Agreed. Failing to land a national seed last year hurt us. But getting the 4 national seed instead of the 1-3? I'd argue that doesn't appreciably affect us one way or another. We've got home field all the way to the CWS and as good a bracket as we could ask for. And if we get to Omaha, all the teams will be good so it's not like we could have scored a free W by getting a 1v8 or 2v7 game.

for people that like to dismiss the importance of the RPI, looks like the committee went straight to it to sort out the top 4 seeds.
What do yall think of our regional? I dont think we could have asked for a better draw. I bet we play the 3 seed again this year in the final.

Pingpongham is a shitty 4 so that is good to avoid a 4 seed with a true ace.
Minny is one of the, if not the, worst 2 seed in the tourney.
Wake is one of the better 3 seeds. They're the real 2 seed and Minny is the 3, lets be real. They can mash and have one of the best hitters in CBB. However their pitching is suspect. I think their team ERA was close to 5. Ours is just over 3.

We should score 10+ easy on Wake, the two most likely pitchers to face us if we meet have 4+ ERAs and their bullpen is awful looking at the stats.

Binghamton appears to be awful. 108 RPI. No games vs a top 50 RPI all season. 13-22 on the road for the year. I imagine they are going to be shellshocked at Olsen. Finally, they can hit, but they've given up 10+ runs on Friday nights like 4-5 times so their "ace" clearly isn't very good
Minnesota as a 2 is a gift. They won the B1G but went 3-4 on the year vs top 50 and come in having lost 5 of 6. Their RPI of 50 is one of the highest at-large in the field yet they somehow got a 2-seed.
Wake Forest comes from the ACC so you know they've played some big time talent. Wake finished 13-17 in conference but with a 25 RPI. They've got some good series wins (UNC, Duke, FSU) but they've struggled on the road (12-15). They appear to depend on bats more than pitching and I think that heavily favors us.
All in all, it looks like a really great set up for us
