My follow up wasn't even meant to be a direct shot. TexAgs is obviously a major media outlet. When they reported it was highly unlikely to happen before the school had even received Griffin's transcripts or discussed it as a staff I felt it was premature. Their follow up on the Griffin story was going to make the rounds back here and to other outlets following this development. It's standard to address a conflicting report how it was stated to support a my new report that contains new details suggesting otherwise. They, along with every other reputable media outlet, does this...But I'm the one that's "butt hurt"

Unfortunately, one site has decided to take Hop's post from last night on the subject quite personally despite the fact that it had nothing to do with him but instead was simply us offering our take on Griffin's tweet and the subject of him potentially transferring in to A&M. The rest of it, I'll take the high road and ignore (for the time being but, damn, it's tough sometimes) because the point of me getting on my computer and posting on this site is to provide you guys with Aggie sports and recruiting news and if I'm doing anything else, I'm wasting my time and yours on things not worthy of our time.

And yet you spend a whole paragraph on it. Just ignore them and stop with the schoolboy pissing contest.

First off, you're treading the line with your 'schoolboy pissing contest' comment to me. Whether you think it's a 'good way to treat paying customers' or not, I won't put up with disrespect towards anyone who works to provide content for this site.

Second, if you have no idea what's gone on behind the scenes or even what's being said and allowed to stay up on other sites regarding myself and this site) then you're really not in a position to say we've overreacted to anything or are engaging in any sort of schoolboy behavior. Tone it down or leave. Simple as that.

It will be interesting to follow which site ends up being right about this. Pretty polarizing viewpoints. Are the viewpoints really polarizing? I think both sites are close to the same message worded differently at different times on this one. 1) hamm never said it was "likely" and 2) billy is now reporting that there's positive vibe from the Griffin camp and that A&M will in fact look into it. To me, that now puts the info as essentially the same on both sites on the topic of Derrick Griffin - still unlikely but this chance could be real.

We could have done without all the Ag on Ag bickering between the sites, though, as I think it played out like this:

1) hamm reports that there's a chance
2) hop reports essentially that there's no chance despite the other site's bad info
3) hamm next reports that contact has been made and transcripts are being sent, despite the other site refuting that there's any chance
4) billy reports that he's taking the high road, but adds in that there's positive buzz from the Griffin camp and A&M will in fact look into it, but it's still not likely - which is not far off from what hamm' s been saying from the beginning

In the end, both have sources, and both ended up with essentially the same conclusion while both attacking each other... that's the part that is tiresome. ... but at least we consumers have the info corroborated!

You left out all the petty comments Hamm threw in, but other than that probably accurate.

Exactly. Where was the site-v-site attack on our side? Some of you (and it's a tiny group) get so caught up in the 'we don't like the petty arguments being brought over here' that you don't even realize that it had NOTHING to do with anyone else's reporting an then we're getting slammed by a mod on another site who is calling into question our character and even going so far as to invoke the Aggie Code of Honor into the discussion. It's beyond over-the-top and you guys who act as if you wouldn't so much as respond the 100th time this happened amuse me.

As I promised you guys I would do, I did some more digging on the Derrick Griffin and Nick Harvey fronts.

After doing so, nothing has changed in that I'm still expecting Harvey to remain with the team. He and his family actually discussed matters with the Aggie coaches prior to the two-week post-semester break. Unless something changes (and if it does, I'll let you guys know about it), Nick's plan is to remain at Texas A&M and begin Summer I classes next week.

As far as Griffin goes, I checked with two more plugged-in sources who reinforced what I was told on Sunday evening. I know we'd all love to see it happen but, despite the fact that Derrick would love to play for TAMU (which was the case throughout high school all the way up until he signed with Miami and probably even since that time) it still looks like a tremendous longshot that it could ever happen. I don't expect the Aggies to simply throw this one away without at least digging in to see what's there but there is currently no real confidence that anything will materialize from those I'm talking to on multiple sides of this thing.

So a mixed bag on Tuesday but I'll continue to follow these two subjects that have caught the interest of Aggie fans.

And one more note: Patience is at an all-time low today on my end so keep things civil around here because there is a group of about five posters who are one step from joining zgermanag on 'Permabanned Island.'

I posted a comment about how the different sites had competitive advantages/disadvantages and that Texags' advantage was reliability, premium content quality, and insight into the AD. Didn't mention disadvantages or the advantages of the other sites and my post got taken down with liucci saying: "Just saw this ridiculous post. If you want to play this game, go play it elsewhere. I don't have time for it on this site and will be just fine without your business."

What a bunch of limp dick idiots those two are. Hamm literally is a limp dick, and Billy hasn't done a single thing his entire life except blog about the Ags.

So I hadn't seen Charles Oliver's rerank: he's up to a 93 on 247 and #16th corner.

Travon Fuller is #14, and Greedy is at #13.

We're after a lot of top targets too, but most of them will go almost the entire year.

I noticed that Texas isn't pushing for early commitments either and both of us (and OU!) are currently lower than Baylor and TCU in the rankings. Either that means early recruiting as Mack Brown created it is dead, or this cycle is a sea change (which given the UH stuff kinda scares me).

As a football fan I feel next year is the year when we can have high expectations, but we really need a good season this year to have a good class it seems.

The SEC move has essentially killed early recruiting

Good I say. It was always designed to marginalize us, even if it backfired some recently.

I just care about Derrick Griffin, and the kids.

Honestly I don't really care for liucci or Hamm but I knew several of the guys here would get a kick out of their nonsense.

It's like watching one of those VH1 reality shows except these are our douches. Gives it that personal feeling.

If it is ever turned into a soap opera it shall be called "As The Douche Flows"

This is where a lot of our info comes from. So the drama teaches us:

1. to take many things with a grain of salt

2. to not be so serious about Aggie sports

The second one is a big one for me personally, as my butt STILL hurts about Malik.

They both ham it up a bit (pardon the pun) to generate interest, IMO.
