Stripling picks up his first Win the same night he picks up his first hit. Wacha is gonna need to throw a perfect game the next time they square off just to save face

Odor should be pissed about being taken out. It was a dirty move. However Odor has done that fairly regularly. He got a taste of his own medicine then flipped out and landed a monster punch.

He caught him so clean. You don't typically see clean punches landed like that in basebrawls. I thought it all played out fine though. Odor will get suspended but doesn't deserve more than a few games

I think its ridiculous that he freaked out over a hard slide when he does the same fricking thing all the time, but

so I was all for the result

The way it all went down was perfect. The Blue Jays spent all weekend whining and complaining about everything and acting tough in both series this year between the Rangers and them. Then The slate gets cleared with a HBP and Bautista tries to act like a tough guy and gets rocked. Then his partner in whine (Donaldson) gets clocked in mid air trying to land a punch on Odor as well. It played out perfectly.

really? I'm sorry but I strongly disagree.

You just can't let guys throw punches because they don't like the way someone else plays the game. There's a code in how that is handled and this went outside that code.

Normal "brawl" suspension is 5-7 games. Odor should definitely get a longer sentence.

I meant around 5 games or so. I've seen people saying he should get suspended for 15-20 games which I think is extremely excessive. If you're going to let players charge the mound and scuffle on the field with lesser suspensions you can't freak out when one actually hits another one cleanly instead of flailing around and not landing anything. His punch wasn't dirty like I remember Michael Barrett's being. He didn't sucker punch him or hit him in the back of the head.

eh, I just think it's gotta be 10+. I understand in a sense what you mean about charging the mound, but that's a baseball norm. Players know if they act like a count, a ball is coming up and in. That's how this is handled. It's just the code.

btw, I also don't like that things like bat flips freak people out. Why are players not allowed to enjoy the moment?

frick I don't think Steven Truitt's bat has come down yet. It's still somewhere in orbit next to the ball Pujols hit off Lidge. But that bat toss will always be a lasting memory for me.

Carlos Quentin got 8 games when he broke Greinke's collarbone a few years ago. Nyjer Morgan aka Tony Plush got 8 games for inciting a full blown riot with the Marlins and the Cardinals. I dunno. This was more high profile because of the past so MLB will probably give him 10+ but I don't think he deserves any more than the 8 those guys got.

As far as Bautista's bat flip I don't really care. I don't think he deserves to get hit over it but if he just gone to 1st and slid normally he wouldn't have gotten punched in the face. I honesty think Matt Bush hit him on his own, trying to make an impression after getting called up, but who knows.

John Gibbons might be looking at a nice suspension for coming back on the field after being ejected also. No idea what the precedent is for that
