A&M has Montana first up. I'm assuming Temple is the first #1 seed, and La Tech isn't a push over, but looks like a decent draw overall.

We play our future coach in the 2nd round.

The fact that we are analyzing the draw we got in the freaking NIT is evidence of how far we have fallen as a program. 6 straight years of making the NCAA (with 5 straight years of winning at least one game), and have not gone back since. Thanks Kennedy

The way we have played lately, I wouldn't assume we beat Bryan High right now, much less Montana

Fudge gets a little blame but this is year 4 no 1 or 2. That excuse us long gone.

Agreed, but the complaint I was responding to was about Kennedy's entire tenure.

Yup. Turgeon's guys are now mostly gone. This is on Kennedy. No reason to be this god awful in a weak conference. We had our chances and we chocked down the line.

I know its apples to oranges, but Turgeon is now in the tournament. He seems to have cleaned up Maryland fairly well.

Meanwhile, Kennedy has seen very little improvement in the same time frame.

You're just going to have to accept the fact that we downgraded when we hired Kennedy. I'm all for giving him another year, but honestly if he is fired after the NIT I'm not going to shed a tear. We deserve better with the talent that surrounds us in this state. It'd time to money whip a damn good coach who is proven and can utilize our resources to win.

Do we really? We are so football focused. I could see a SMU turning into a Gonzaga of Texas before we deserve to be a consistent NCAA tournament team. I think the streak was a mirage.

But by that logic our football fandom deserves a modern national title or two so life isn't fair.

The talent is there. If SMU takes over Dallas, then take over Houston. Go to Hightower, Jack Yates, and the private school circuit and lock it down $$$. Talent should never be a problem.

Basketball recruiting doesn't really work like that. The top talent in TX is going to go to the Kentucky's and Dukes of the world most of the time. This upcoming recruiting class is the exception. Bball recruiting is so much more national than football

Kind of a blessing and a curse the NIT.

It's a chance to get some PT in, get the win totals up. When SC won back to back NITs they played some programs that were down but they were able to beat some pretty big and medium names on the way such as FSU, Cincy, Louisville, Michigan, Miami, UNLV, Georgetown, and Maryland.

With that said.. you win too many and your win total gets so high it looks like you had a good season and you keep your coach around.

Attendance may not be good........

Blue bell park looked full when I drove by and I was able to get seats 12 rows behind our bench online this morning. Not many folks here yet.
