So it's the LSU fans making all the noise and cheering for Vandy

No rivalry. Nope. None at all.

Stealing bases and bunting guys over with an 8 run lead. Kind of a shitty move by Vandy. shite like that gets you a fast ball up and in vs Swanson. No one wants to see that.
South explained that the run rule was in effect and so it was to their advantage to try to end the game

Good point.

I haven't been able to enjoy the SECN for baseball
South is much better at baseball than football.

So do we get a national seed?
Posted on 5/23/15 at 5:56 pm to Agforlife
My baseball IQ isn't great but Farmer thinks we do, we did win 2 in the tourney and I think that was what Farmer thought it would take to give us a great shot at it.
I trust in Farmer

After tonight we still have an edge over Vandy in RPI (6 > 10), vs top 25 (7-2 > 6-6), record (45-11 > 41-18), and bad losses (0 > 3).
Clearly there are other factors like conference record (they have a slight edge), H2H, road games, avg RPI on wins/loses, and so on.
They also have a division win and possibly a tourney win.
As long as they don't win tomorrow I will feel alright to pretty good. If they do win it all then damn it'll be down to the wire with 4 SEC deserving and we'll be lucky to even get 3 national seeds.
EDIT: and it may be plain as day that X is better than Y and Y still gets the national seed. Crazy shite happens from the committee. Good thing Eric Hyman is on the committee (I think he still is)

So we are officially Florida fans tomorrow right?
Posted on 5/23/15 at 8:57 pm to Old Sarge
Indeed we are. Easier to be UF fans than LSU.
Kind of strange that the 2 teams in the finals went through the losers bracket. They probably don't have a lot left and will be either going very deep down the bench or stretching guys out too much. Could negatively effect regionals. If this was a true double elim tourney, Vandy & UF would have to beat A&M and LSU a 2nd time.

In the least shocking news ever, we are officially a host site. If we do get skipped over for the national seed, it looks like we will be paired somewhere close.
Here is my first stab at pairings without much research or thought. #s are RPI.
1. Miami, Fla. 8. TCU
3. UCLA 24. Cal State-Fullerton
4. Florida 9. Florida State
5. LSU 2. DBU
6. Texas A&M 14. Houston
7. Missouri State 11. Oklahoma State
12. Louisville 10. Vanderbilt
13. Illinois 20. UC-Santa Barbara

I'd be very worried if I was TCU right now. The two schools skipped by RPI for hosts were
15. Radford (won conference and tourney)
16. FAU (finished 2nd didn't make conf final)
Neither had a great record vs top 25 or a lot of games. Like TCU they play in a weaker conference and the committee didn't seem to care what their RPI was. It's tough to read, but my gut based on the hosts says 3 SEC, 3 ACC, UCLA, Illinois.
The two teams they reached for were CSF and UCSB. My guess is one or both are going to be 2-seed hosts.
If UF wins this, I'm place the pairings as
1. LSU - DBU
2. UCLA - UCSB
3. Louisville - MSU
4. Miami - CSF
5. Florida - OSU
6. A&M - TCU
7. Illinois - Vandy
8. Florida State - Houston

SwItch OSU and Vandy. I forgot whoever is matched up with MSU is basically a 9th national seed.
Posted on 5/25/15 at 11:43 am to Farmer1906
No national seed even though we have more wins than 5 of the 8 national seeds and a higher RPI than 4 of the 8 national seeds.

Not to even get into the MSU debate again, but pairing us @ TCU is just a joke
Record: A&M 45-11 vs TCU 43-11
SOS: A&M 50 vs TCU 79
RPI: A&M 6 vs TCU 8
vs 25: A&M 7-3 vs TCU 4-4
vs 25-50: A&M 7-4 vs TCU 3-1
Road: TCU 15-7 vs A&M 10-4
Neutral: A&M 5-1 vs TCU 1-4
vs teams awarded host site: TCU 3-1 vs A&M 4-3
Last 15: TCU 12-3 vs A&M 9-6
It's like they put the final 15 above all other stated criteria. However, TCU played 1 game vs team that received an at-large berth in their final 15. One. And they lost it.
