Plan on arriving around 12:30/1 at hotel. Have a bottle of whiskey to tailgate with but don't know where to go tailgating wise.
Not trashy cheap dining and bar options?

Market Square downtown. Upscale food and nice bars. Or go to see the Vol Navy by Calhouns

1pm tomorrow, or AM tonight?
The main/biggest Dawg lot is calhouns. My crew is leaving atl at 3:45 tomorrow and will be there by 7. As mentioned it's right where the vol navy docks and is a half mile walk to the stadium. If you're sociable you can usually talk your way onto a boat with some friendly vol folks if that's the kinda thing you want to cross off your bucket list. If not, liek I said it's basically all dawgs in there and if you need food you're right there at a restaurant, although your wait is going to be HELLA long. If you're getting there at 1pm tomomrrow you won't even be able to eat just fwiw.

For good, casual fare Tomato Head in Market Square is good. I also like Sunspot on the strip. Their burgers are good and have a good beer selection.
JMO, but I think Calhoun's food blows donkey dick. I guess the atmosphere is what you're paying for.
Anywhere on the west side of Neyland is good for tailgating. There are also pockets of tailgating elsewhere.

If you can get in to stock and barrel, do it. Best burger/whiskey bar in Knoxville.

Was it you who threw out Sunspot to as a suggestion recently? I had almost forgotten about that place because I'm never on that end of the downtown area. I've always had good food/service there.

Yeah, it's my favorite place on the strip. Cheese dip is great, really good beer selection.

I might hit it up tomorrow before the game. It's been too long since I've been there and I've never had the cheese dip.
