I'm always interested to see what visitors have planned for Athens when they come, I guess I take things for granted sometimes so I like hearing what others make a point to do or see when coming to town. For those going, where are you tailgating? Any bars or restaurants you're definitely going to visit?

Meeting some friends at a BWW on the Tennessee-Georgia border. Alcohol, wings, and a pretty even number of UT and UGA fans should make for some fun.

This is way off topic but your post made me think about it. I was watchign some show on history channel a while back and there was a bar that perfectly straddled the state line. I think the GA part of the place was in a dry county so you could eat and use the restrooms in the GA half of the place but for a beer you had to walk a few feet over to the TN side.

I bet that'd be a cool spot to watch the game. Unique for sure.

I actually will be in Georgia tomorrow, but not in Athens.

On my way to Alpharetta now to watch my nephew's football game tomorrow morning. Then we're heading to Knoxville to watch the game with my folks.

I kinda wish I hadn't committed to going to Knoxville because watching a game with my stepmother is annoying. She has that east Tennessee twang, and during games, it's loud.

Plus, my folks don't drink or have booze in the house

Nah. They're both AA members with 20+ years sober. I don't drink in front of them out of respect.

This will be my very first time in Athens and I'll be driving from Atlanta. We'll leave at around 9~10AM. Do you have any recommendation for parking spot and restaurants? We'll be there until midnight.

Lol, oh. I don't really smoke anymore. Nothing against it, I just have shite to do.

All in favor of decriminalization/legalization tho. I would probably smoke more if it as readily available as alcohol.

Well that'll put you in Athens close to noon so I'm not 100% sure where to steer you. The visiting team's RVs park at Clarke Central HS on Baxter (not a far walk to the stadium, straight down baxter, but seems like mt everest walkign back up it after) so I assume they probably have parking there. There are random pay lots around campus like you'll see any other venue but I don't know enough about them specifically to point you towards one that would be best. I believe parking is free downtown but there's no way there will be any spots getting there at that time. Lastly I think the IM fields have parking and a shuttle that takes you to the stadium but I've never done that because I hate the idea of parkign that far and shuttling. You'll probably get better answers asking other TN boards and fans who have done it before from a visitor's perspective.

So what happens if UT loses the first half? You gonna step out back for a moonshine sonata?
