We also will have Lamonte Turner. This class is solid and they better learn quick. Our OOC schedule next year is brutal.

I can't wait to see what Turner can do. I was butt hurt he couldn't get eligible this year after he graduated early.

North Carolina will be a signature piece to Tennessee’s non-conference schedule next season, but the Vols also will host ACC program Georgia Tech in Knoxville and play West Coast power Gonzaga in Nashville. Tennessee also will play in the Maui Invitational in a field that also includes North Carolina, Oregon, UConn, Wisconsin, Oklahoma State, Georgetown and host program Chaminade.

Love the brutal schedule.

What do you guys think about the current recruiting class?

I do too. I've seen where we are trying to get Virginia and a few more prominent teams on the schedule for next year and moving forward.

This class is ok IMO. Not a bad class by any stretch, but definitely not elite. I think it's currently middle of the pack in tSEC. Plenty of room to improve but overall not bad. I really like Kwe Parker and Grant Williams from this class.

The class seems athletic, but it looks like a few will need some development before they can contribute. Obviously need more size. I hope they can find a decent grad transfer to help.

I like Parker and Bone. PG should be good moving forward.

UT picks up local 3* 6'5 180 lb. SG, Jordan Bowden from Carter HS in Knoxville. Played a year of prep ball in South Carolina where he started to pick up some steam on the trail.

Offers from some good mid majors like Cincinnati, Marquette, Providence and Tulsa.

He reminds me a lot of Jordy Mac coming out of HS. VQ staff seems to be very high on him despite his 83 rating

He was getting interest from big programs before we scooped him. Could be a steal for Barnes

I read where Kansas possibly had some interest, but that their class was full. Not sure how true that is though

My bad on not replying sooner to your last post.I can't remember the last time we had a PG backed up by another PG. I can't wait to see what Turner, Parker and Bone can do. Hopefully we can grab a solid 5 before to long for them to get the ball to down in the post. I'd love for the dude out of Turkey come play out here. No idea how realistic that is though

News came out yesterday that Kasongo is to transfer out. Good move for both parties, IMO. That frees up another scholarship to aggressively go after a big and one more guy that they feel fits their need/style.

Videos came out the other day of Lamonte Turner hitting 7 3's in a row at practice. Also, BR just did a new short video of Kwe Parker yamming.

Anyone have any interest in getting this thread back alive? I can throw some easy RPI info on the front page if so. We just landed a new 6'8 PF recently as well

Rob Lewis this afternoon on the Pons kid out of France:

quote:

Have heard some things just this afternoon that lead me to believe Tennessee is putting themselves in very good position with him.

Don't know what the timetable might be but based on what I'm hearing feels like they may be putting themselves in a spot where they might be the team to beat.
