With fall camp getting started yesterday I thought I'd get something going where we can drop videos, quotes, position battles, and general discussion. Just have to grind it out for roughly another month and we're there.

VN with 5 or 6 videos up of Fall Camp Day 1

The buzz continues around Jordan, Palmer, and Labruzza. This recruiting class might end up a lot better than its ranking. Love seeing
quote:

A lot of the attention was on the quarterbacks, as expected. Both Dormady and Guarantano looked pretty sharp with their passes. Both also showed good arm strength. Once again, I was impressed with Dormady’s accuracy, especially on the intermediate to deep balls. Guarantano also had some nice deep passes. I

Reports in the past always talked about accuracy issues especially early on. The offense might not have that much of a drop off.

We don't have as many household names at this point that the rest of the league knows about, but this might be the most competetive depth we've had since this staff took over. Talented and deep, but quite a bit of unknowns.

I read somewhere, that this is the first season that Butch has allowed 7 on 7 passing skeleton drills. I'm interested to see how that increases the preparation of our quarterbacks

EDIT: here's one article, though it makes me cringe with the forced "similar to 1998" click-bait title

I'm quietly very, very optimistic about this season. I have a really good feeling about this team. I'm more optimistic this year than last season. I just hope we can get good QB play and have some good luck with injuries this season, if those things happen I think we can surprise a lot of people.

The QB's and WR's seemed to think highly of the 7 on 7 from what I've read. T. Smith, Ignont, Palmer, Butler, Jordan, Bumphus, Labruzza and Reid are all said to be standing out as true freshman. I didn't realize how big Butler was coming in as a freshman. That's him in the picture below. 6'4 275

I think Kmac is going to have a really good year. This dline might turn out to be really good. The physical talent is there.

He's got the strength, he just needs to get the attitude to go along with it.

They just need to stay healthy, we don't have a lot of depth on the D-Line.

Idk why I read this thread every year

It's always filled with wonderous reviews of players acting like they are the second coming of Albert Haynesworth or Travis Henry only better yet here I am once again about to read every single post

The depth at DT is 6 deep + the freshman so I think we are going to be OK there. I am nervous about the depth at DE. All 3 guys (Kongbo, Taylor, Phillips) are talented and were highly rated coming out of HS/JUCO, but have little playing experience and almost nothing behind them besides freshman. We'll need them to stay healthy (Which Phillips has had some bad luck with) for us to be strong in the trenches. We've got high level talent all over the line (both sides for once), but injuries at DE or to McKenzie and Tuttle again would be a disaster.

They said Jack Jones missed Sunday and was in shorts and shirt instead of shell today. Going to guess it is him.

There's a rumor on VN that he's quitting the team

I think the rumor is that he quit this weekend but has decided to return.
