First let me say, I will always love and respect Tee Martin for what what he meant to my alma mater. He's a fricking champion on the field for us and nobody can take that away from him ever.
With that said...we CANNOT make him the next head coach at the University of Tennessee. At least not in 2017. Maybe in 2025 or after it could be a natural fit if god forbid we still are looking for "the guy". Now is not the time however. We are at a god damn crossroad with this program. We have an entire generation of Tennesseeans now that know nothing but Tennessee being a 6-6/8-4(at best) program. This next hire has to be a competent one. We can't afford to gamble on a feel good story like Tee Martin
Why does he deserve the job from a pure coaching standpoint? He's been a position coach most of his career and is still learning as an OC. Kentucky always ultimately sucked arse offensively when he was there. USC still hasn't clicked under him and I fear he is being bailed out by a shoe
in top 10 pick in Sam Darnold
God bless Tee Martin, but I'm sorry. Dude doesn't deserve to be on our top 10 coaching candidate list.

Hell, if we're going to make a position coach the HC go get Dale Jones.
NO!!!! We need a proven head coach. To Hell with this on the job training.
I don't give a rat's arse if a guy has 14 conference championships in the Podunk Conference. I want a guy who has been in some big time games and won. A proven P5 guy.

No more little dick coaching hires. It's time we embrace what Tennessee football is and act like we are still one of the big boys of college football.

Tennessee is one of the ten wealthiest athletic departments in the country, one of a very select few to pack in 100k every Saturday and a history better than anyone in the SEC not named Alabama.
Like Clay Travis said, put your gigantic dick on the table and get a big time coach.

I don't even give a frick if Gruden or Chip or whoever doesn't work out. Go spend some god damn money and make a a grand slam hire on paper. At least Currie will have made a swing for the fences instead of this dollar store shopping wait and see for four years bullshite I've grown far too accustomed to

The only coordinator I’d be content with would be Venables. Otherwise I want a proven HC

Exactly where I'm at. We can't keep waiting 4 years and starting over. All of us are going to be old or dead by the time they get the right hire through the asinine hiring cycle we have been stuck with since Fulmer.
