The city officially votes on on it 5 days from now on March 28th, but it sounds like it's going to go through after running into some initial road blocks. The article mentions they had to push back the opening until June but it sounds like it's almost 100% happening.

I don't think anything has been announced yet in terms of stores or restaurants on the bottom floor on Regas Square. They broke ground almost exactly a month ago and are shooting for a completion date of about 18 months out (Right around the 2018 football season)

Thanks for the info! My first impression on the beer legislation was that it would kill the concept behind Pour Taproom. I'm glad to see the city working towards regulations that are safety-minded while still supporting new business.

I did check out the Regas Square site a couple times since it went up, but as you mentioned, there isn't much info on the commercial spaces.

I'd love to see a small-scale establishment take up the name and menu. I feel like people would pack it out. One of the primary problems with the old space is that it was huge, and we had 3-4 dining rooms that didn't open except on weekends and special occasions. Rent was too high, the building was old, heating and cooling all that space was expensive, and it was kind of removed from the hot spots downtown.

I'm in Knoxville for the week and got to stop in at A Dopo Sourdough pizza down near the old city. Killer pizza and a great little place. Went in with a large group, 5 adults and 5 kids under 5 and got a table immediately at 6 pm this past Sunday. Lots of business coming through but there was plenty of tables. Pizza was awesome(I had the soppresatta, others enjoyed the margherita, etc) and gelato was great too. Highly recommended.
