I do a double take every time I see McKenzie. His legs are not normal. It makes his arms look small. How in the world does he moved out of the hole by anybody?

Prepare to fap: Hurd & Kamara during drills in 2nd practice

That video works when I use the twitter app, but not the online format. He's got a bunch of good videos up from today's practice

It's going to be a 1990s party the next few years. The Big Orange giant has reawaken.

The first time I saw that pic I thought "wonder who that WR is next to McKenzie"

Update on Preston Williams situation from VQ

quote:
The testing agency has granted Williams a retake of the exam, and that process is scheduled to take place early next week, no less than four sources told VolQuest.com.

For Williams, getting a special session scheduled to take the test potentially could help greatly expedite his return to the field --- as long as Williams records the necessary score. Multiple sources have said that Williams needs simply to score in the 18 range in order to be a qualifier.

Williams is definitely smart enough to score an 18. I followed his recruitment enough to know that while he may be a bit of a diva (many WRs are) and follow his own path on a lot of things, he's not dumb at all. His only issue is if he takes it seriously enough and with what's on the line I think he will.

It's going to be nice to finally be good on both sides of the ball again.

Khalil McKenzie's legs look like they were created by a kid on NCAA '14. Looks like someone maxed out the gluts, thighs, and calves size then entered a cheat code and added another 30 or 40

This made me laugh.

From R. Lewis on the take away after the first two practices

quote:

It's easy to get carried away in the first couple of days of camp when all you see are a bunch of good looking athletes running around the field. It seems abundantly safe to say though that the talent on this Tennessee team is a serious upgrade from the recent past.

They just look like an upper-tier SEC football team now all over the field in terms of size and speed. As we all know and as Butch Jones is fond of reminding us, much of that talent is still young, but man, it's undeniably present on the roster now.

The improvement on defense--where John Jancek hasn't even been able to play a dime package for much of his time on campus--is glaringly obvious. We're all enamored with the influx of talent up front but the upgrade in the back end may be just as significant.

I don't know if Tennessee's brought in a trio of freshmen defensive linemen as physically impressive as Khalil McKenzie, Shy Tuttle and Kyle Phillips in the 14 years I've been covering them. McKenzie has created such an uproar with his sheer massiveness that Phillips' arrival after missing spring has been overshadowed, but he's a great looking prospect that's flying under the radar a bit because of the talent around him.

The back end of the defense should be significantly improved with the addition of Justin Martin, who's been impressive early and an expanded role for the ever-improving Rashuan Gaulden.

Going forward, I'm like everyone else; who's going to step at middle linebacker and can the Vols identify a couple of major playmakers at wideout. Those are real questions that have to be answered, but my early take is that there's plenty of solid reasons on the roster right now to justify all the hype that's accompanied the start of fall camp.

I expect to see Khalil do that every game for the next 3 years. Tuttle through Marcus Jackson, I believe, to the ground today during 1 on 1s too.
