I have no idea but this is interesting as a lot of ppl doubted Butch was too loyal to let ppl go

So did he quit or get told to look around?

He coached with Lovie Smith before so I'm guessing he just wanted to go the NFL route.

Can't blame him if that's the case. I don't think he was forced out though

I'd rather take Blake Anderson. Not because I like him, I just think it would be hilarious for Arky State to lose their HC for a 5th year in a row.

an open revolt would occur on campus

What's bad is he isn't an awful coach or anything but it is not a name that needs to be heard around Knoxville

That would be ridiculous. They keep plugging along though.

Btw, I have some left over ribs and rice...it was delicious. I live at The Ball off Alcoa Hwy if you want a plate.

Yeah, I don't think Azzani is ready to be an OC at this level.

Agreed. Can't afford to lose any more players.

Please explain. Idk enough to really have an opinion on Azzani but most other posters want him to be promoted from what I can tell

Insider on another board claims several more players will jump ship if coach z is promoted. Can't say whether this is 100% accurate, but he has a very good track record

This has absolutely nothing to do with coaching/recruiting, but I've always thought azzani seemed like a real a-hole and figured I was in the minority with that line of thinking. He looks like he has a Napoleon complex. Idk, but I would think UT could find a bette choice for OC

Scout guy, Josh Woodward, says the university is getting flooded with calls from those who want to be OC. Everybody loves the talent we have on campus and what we are bringing in.

Beyond that...we're an immediate bullet point on someone's resume as our offense was set to jump from 100 to 50th or so just on experience of the OL and Josh Dobbs alone.

Makes perfect sense. Stark contrast from the Dooley era. You can say what you will about Butch, but he has certainly brought the program back to a level where good coaches want to come again.
