2nd year in program and was in a supposed QB competition all spring and fall camp.

Can't run a QB sneak

Keep in mind this is the same coach that has an analytics chart for 2 point conversions and tracks players sleep patterns. Backup QB who was in a QB competition can't run a QB sneak.

You are asking to be pissed off by reading cliffs of his pressers imo.

Then why didn't he call a timeout and give Dormady a chance to shake it off and get back in there. That isn't the place where you want to waste a down (or in this case...lose 5 yards on a penalty).

I can't remember a single time that we've run a QB sneak under Lyle, he is scrambling to come up with answers

Butch thinks you can cash in timeouts for points at the end of games.

Like most of his explanitions, there are soooooo many issues with this one but I'm gonna choose to focus on this: does a QB really need that much practice to run a QB sneak? I'd imagine JG has enough experience from high school to run one

Next week: vol board rejoices as Quinten Dormady is out indefinitely with severe concussion from practicing QB sneaks in practice

What he actually said was J.G. hadn't taken snaps under center. While frequently believing that Butch says things that are less than truthful...

I think what he meant was that, because Dormady came to the sideline instead of laying on the ground in the field of play, we didn't get an injury timeout, and J.G. didn't get time to take a single practice snap on the sideline.

Again...in this instance...he should have taken a timeout, or better yet...Dormady should have sat down on the field and waited for the trainers to come out. That way, the backup QB has time to take practice snaps, and you aren't rushed on the play calling. In my opinion...poor coaching led to Dormady's decision to limp to the sideline instead of laying down.
