We are 3-4. We certainly aren't "good".

This isn't directed at you personally, but I think cliches like that are a loser's excuse. Just like I hate the "on the brink" and the rest of that shite. You either win ballgames or you don't.

I will admit that this year's team has looked better, but frick all these moral victories. This team should have been better just by virtue of another year of the system and talented players getting a year older/stronger.

You just described Lyle's entire verbal repertoire.
Cliches and excuses. That's all he knows.

He is a used car salesman. That's who Lyle Jones is.

My opinion, you can't fire the guy from a fiscal standpoint. However, it would say an awful lot if he got rid of a few assistants and hired some top notch names. That probably won't happen for a few reasons, but I think it's the only chance he has to win something of note while the head coach at UT.

And fwiw, I thought the coaches did an alright job yesterday.

Not sure why anyone thinks firing Butch will solve anything. Our last 7 years of mediocrity should've shown us all that continuity helps. Another coaching search will just get more players leaving the program and we can't have unnecessary turnover right now.

Get over it. Butch is here until at least the end of 2016.

I'm not a Butch fan, I'm a TENNESSEE fan but we have to be realistic here. Have we not learned anything?

Firing Lyle won't mean shite if Hart is still in charge. But bringing in a coach who actually knows football instead of a 3rd chair trumpet player looking for acceptance and praise will work wonders for building up a football program. It's a strange concept, I know, but it works.

We've had plenty of turnover with Jones as coach. Him leaving won't spur anything extraordinary.

Continuity doesn't mean shite to me when all it is is continued mediocrity. I'd much rather have someone new that I hope can win, instead of having a shite bag in charge that I know can't win.

Good coaches get it done no matter what and it's evident early on. Tennessee fans acting like this job is a unique situation where it's impossible to win quickly and coaches need 4-5 years to even see what they can do is so bizarre. Our struggles aren't about instability, they're about Fulmer quitting on the job, only seeing one year of Kiffin and then hiring two coaches who have struggled early on.

It's not like we've just been firing anybody who loses a game. We fired one guy after 15 years and one obvious loser after 3. That's it.
