Just how pivotal was last year's win vs USCe?

Looking back at it that win was beyond HUGE, we didn't deserve to win as the D played like total shite but we somehow pried that victory out of their hands.
If we don't win from that point forward we all know we are facing yet another depressing 5-7 season, we wouldn't have had the good feelings generated by the end of season bowl arse kicking.
The team would've lost valuable practice time and confidence as well
I'm not gonna say it was the biggest turning point win for a long time but if we end up going on a run here I think it could end up being overlooked as a pivotal moment

Agreed. We were so close to none of this hype ever happening if that game is a loss.
One of the longest days of my life. Woke up in Knoxville to drive to Columbia, got hit with the snow storm in the mountains, closed the interstate so I was parked in the tunnel 4 hours with no cell service.. was supposed to meet people in Asheville and ride with them the rest of the way but they left me because I was stuck.. finally got to Columbia 10 hours later and watched the greatest comeback I've seen in person.

I was Skyping with my brother and got off the computer when we went down 42-28 figuring it was over. I kept watching, but I didn't want anyone to hear the words I was using or the shitty redneck mood I was in.
When we won it was more disbelief than joy. I was happy, but it was ridiculous.

When we won it was totally disbelief for me, I was just running around yelling "we won! We actually won!
It really feels like it might have been a moment where we went from having such a long period of time with every break going against us but that night, on that field, everything went our way and we pulled out a miracle

Good thing Thompson is a pussy that flailed around like beef curtains on a motorcycle.

Yea I couldn't believe we got away with that either, sign of the luck switching I guess, reminds me of the flag on the punt in 04 against Florida. Maybe it reversed our fortunes
