There were some gumps claiming that his weight was false on recruiting sites and he only weighed ~240 on his visit to Bama

I just looked at Alabama's starting lineup and Kongbo weighs nearly as much as Jonathan Allen and he's bigger than their other DE Dashawn Hand. They are so full of shite

Day 3 update from Brice. Sweet. Baby. Jesus.
quote:
Jonathan Kongbo looks even better, even more intimidating in pads. Just uppers, mind you. But seriously, he does.
Multiple folks told me, "He looks every bit as good as (John) Henderson did, maybe even better." Again, Kongbo is physically remarkable. And his explosion is obvious, plus he continues to learn to work the small details. I watched him today when he was not involved in a DL drill, having already taken his turn, grab another teammate and work swim motion. It was a heady thing to see from a guy who still is so relatively new to the game.
There are some occasional drops and misses, but this chatter about the passing game struggles seems a bit unfounded at this point, to me. Jarrett Guarantano just looks sublime; Josh Dobbs has without question improved. Room for all to improve? Of course. Quinten Dormady still slings it extremely well.
But just as with so many positional groups on this team, I can't recall when the Vols have had better depth and talent at so many spots --- including QB.
Daniel Bituli went full-on 'Beast Mode' during a Circle of Life drill victory against Austin Pope. it drew the day's biggest reaction. Bituli later defeated Carlin Fils-Aime, who lasted longer than Pope but who ended up back-pedaling. I'm posting the video shortly, and Ryan and I are working via CBS to get more video highlights to you folks this evening as well.

Good God Almighty... I can only imagine the havoc that these boys are gonna wreck on folks this year. Reading this thread makes me feel like Arnold....

I know they're talking about his size and how he moves without contact practice yet but damn it's hard not to get excited with that comparison. I mean comparing anyone who hasn't even played for us yet to John Henderson is crazy but I'm sure that his sources for that comparison are either former players or former coaches who have some reason to believe so.

Chance Hall and Drew Richmond were the first team tackles today in the full 11 on 11.

No surprise that those defensive ends Butch has been bragging on showed up tonight. Derek Barnett did some damage in 1-on-1 work against Chance Hall. Barnett was the only guy that Hall went against that he seemed to have any problems with. He handled Latroy Lewis and Darrell Taylor easily when matched up with them.
Kongbo and Drew Richmond had a couple of good battles. Looked like Kongbo beat him good once and Richmond handled him the other time.
Kendell Vickers and Khalil McKenzie both had a couple of nice reps, got some real good push up the middle. McKenzie in particular had one really nice rep against Wiesman. Coleman Thomas nicely handled Picou and O'Brien a couple of times.

The first team offense had Malone, Williams and Smith at receiver, Kamara at RB (Hurd was in a green jersey), Richmond, Robertson, Thomas, Wiesman, Hall from left to right on the offensive line. Wolf and Croom rotated in at tight end. Kelly came in after that
(Side note - Brett Kendrick had a class obligation because it's the end of the semester)
That group went against Lewis, McKenzie, Vickers, O'Brien, Barnett, Vereen on the line rotated in. McDowell and Kirkland were LBs with Sutton, Moseley, Foreman, Kelly Jr and Gaulden in the defensive backfield.

Got damn I am stoked for football. The pass rush this year, with Shoop calling the shots, is going to be filthy.

Already looks like a senior.
So is Tuttle out for the season, or not? I've read conflicting reports.

They had him doing some light work in practice reports yesterday. He was dressed out and doing some light walk through exercises.
