I firmly believe Tennessee will win the east this year

I believe Tennessee's offense will be much more explosive than last year. I have been loosely following yall for 2 years and I never really saw it in Dobbs. I think Dormady is a step up, and I think, while not ready yet, Guarantano will be a very good option for Tennessee in the future.

It's hard to replace Kamara, but I believe Kelly is a good runner. He seems to be very balanced from my limited exposure (I don't watch UT like I do LSU). Jennings frickING FRIGHTENS me. I believe he will be a problem, as well as a big reason yall beat UF and UGA.

D will be fine. Lots of very hungry guys coming back, especially yalls safetys.

I really want to go to Neyland for the LSU game this year, unfortunately I won't be able to make the trip, so I will be waiting for a while. I really think this VOLS team goes 2 losses, and finally beats Alabama. I think this team is the best one fielded in a pretty good while in Knoxville.

Hoping for a great game this November. GO VOLS!

You aren't posting on multiple VOL forums are you?

Somebody just posted this on another one

I feel very confident we will have a special season this year.

So I have been watching SEC Network all day today and of course no one gives us a chance to win the East. For once I am actually happy about that. You see the media acts like they are very intelligent and put a lot of thought into their picks, but pretty much every time they are wrong. Let's see below on how good they are at their predictions.

2016 East actual winner Florida- picked 2nd
2016 East favorite Tennessee

2015 East actual winner Florida- picked 5th
2015 East favorite Georgia

2014 East actual winner Missouri- picked 4th
2014 East favorite South Carolina

2013 East actual winner Missouri- picked 6th
2013 East favorite Georgia

2012 East winner Georgia
2012 East favorite Georgia

2011 East actual winner Georgia picked 2nd
2011 favorite South Carolina

2010 East actual winner South Carolina picked 3rd
2010 East favorite Florida

Okay I won't continue, but from 1998-2009 the media was right a total of 4 times. They were right again in 2012, so a total of 5 times they have been correct in a 19 year period. So they are wrong about 74% of the time. The only times they have been correct is when there was a clear dominant SEC East team such as the Florida Tim Tebow years. As you can see some years have they not only been wrong, but they have been way off.

So if I was a betting man I would definitely bet Georgia doesn't win the East. It is almost a certainty. Besides how they are the favorite to win anyway is beyond me. Don't get me started on their quarterback who everyone thinks is amazing. He has a terrible completion percentage, is slower than tits, and the games they won were the games they took the ball out of his hand. Not to mention a second year head coach. So then who will be the actual SEC East champions? Vanderbilt and Missouri is a huge stretch. Kentucky is always going to be Kentucky. Does South Carolina pull out a miracle? I wouldn't put my money on them.

So that leaves you with Tennessee and Florida. Florida has heavily leaned on their defense the past few years to win them games. Their defense has also helped their offense probably perform better than they really were at times. Could you image what their offense would look like if they had a bad defense? Florida's defense is not going to be terrible they will be good, but I promise you they won't be as good as the past few years. I am telling you that small drop off this year with their defense will not only impact them in their close games that they usually end up winning, but also impact their offense. Their offense has never had to carry the team and work under extreme pressure because the defense has always had their back.

So basically I believe it comes down to Florida or Tennessee to win the East. So I really believe Tennessee comes up big this year. It will be a special season.

I can't say with confidence that I see us making it to Atlanta, although it's not out of them real of possibility, but I do think that we will have a better season than what many are predicting. The talent is there. The 2 deep is very upperclassmen dominated. We need the coaching to take the next step. This roster has more talent on it than it has had in a long time even with the 6 guys that just got picked up in the draft. If we can stay healthy this is going to be a team that's going to give a lot of people some trouble.

Especially during the doldrums of Summer the media prints whatever they think people will click on.

You're probably the only fan outside our fanbase that gets that John Kelly is a helluva RB. No, he's not Kamara - completely different styles in fact - but he's a dangerous man with ball in his hands.

Jennings is 100 percent pure Alpha Dog. He's not the WR you throw to for big gains all the time although he does do that he's more of a run you the hell over type WR than a pure speedster. However, he IS the one you throw to when you absolutely have to have a play made.

Dormady should be good but that all depends on OL play which should be a strength and Dormady doing what he does in games. He's talented enough that's for sure but the test is always when the lights go on. If he lives up to what we've seen from him so far then it should be a good year but that's a pretty big if. I will say he puts a level of touch on the ball that can be positively sublime but with a less mobile passer comes other issues.

I don't really have much in the way of expectations this season and I certainly wouldn't predict winning the East or beating BAMA but I do think we'll be a lot better than most think.

I expect the fight in the team to be similar to what we saw in '15 minus the 2nd half collapses. Scott will hopefully be a major play-calling improvement over DeBord and Defense can only improve from last year.

That's exactly what I expect as well. The depth is there that the '15 2nd half issues shouldn't reappear barring another really bad string of injuries. Win or lose, I will be extremely disappointed if the team doesn't regain the fight it had in '15 and '14.

IDK. I like Scott a lot and think he has potential to better but DeBo was more maligned than he should've been - that offense set records even with the flaws. I just wish it hadn't taken him so long to figure out what to do with a DT and a running back like Kamara (had he called '15 the way he did '16 that season might've had two more wins and an SECE Div trophy to show for it). Dobbs not being there changes the dynamic for everything and makes the rushing game harder but the OL should finally be decent. I'm hoping that frees up Scott's playcalling. I believe he had a lot to do with how the Nebraska game was called in particular and that was pretty well called game. I wish we had an established TE #2 because Scott loves working two TE sets. Jakob can block with the best of them but unless he's gotten better over the offseason (possible given how new he is to the position) he's not a pass catching TE.

The system worked well statistically but DeBord was atrocious at play calling.

I think he will be a threat in the NFL. Hopefully he has a big year.

He's very similar to T. Pryor in being a QB turned WR so let's hope!
