He'd be a true freshman fighting off an RS. Freshman JG, a RS Sophomore Sheriron Jones, and Junior QD for the starting spot in 2017. That's some stiff competition. Plus you have everyone seeing JG as the future (even neutral recruiting analysts) and the very real possibility of the top rated QB of 2018 coming in a year behind you.

I saw it had more to do with the passing game this year and JG being a true dual threat. He doesn't think the offense is a good fit. Honestly might be a good decision, but it is still a huge loss.

Big loss, yes. But could also work out to be a net gain using the schollie to fill a position of need. Dobbs, Dormady, Jones and JG have me feeling rather comfortable in the QB department for a couple of years.

That's probably it. AstroDobbs may still be there plus JG this year and Trevor Lawrence the year after him. That's a pretty sick class of qbs.
