That doesn't make any sense as a hire for either party but he may be asking him about OCs/different candidates who are familiar with certain aspects of the O. Also, Helfrich as a no-go seems to have happened after CBJ spoke with Chip Kelly - I find that weird as frick. Is Kelly planning on getting his old band back together and coaching college?

Dude I fricking hated Bajakian. My biggest gripe with Debord has easily been his play calling. So help me god I will lose my fricking mind if Lyle replaces him with an even worse play caller in Mr. Triple reverse inside the 5 yard line.

Jake is likely going to get an NFL OC job this offseason. He would have no interest in working for CBJ again.
I think Scott is the odds on favorite for the OC job with Butch hiring a QB coach to supplement it.
You will likely see another change on the offensive side as well and Stripling is expected to be re-assigned to the admin side, so a DL coach would need to be hired when that is official.
The long rumored Martinez/Fair swap seems very likely too.

Whelp. It's a make or break year for him now.
Get top notch QB and Oline coaches, pray that Scott is a better play caller than DeBord and that Shoop pulls together a top 25 defense.
Barring that this may be Butch's last year if he doesn't produce 9-3 or better.

I feel like we have a good chance to downgrade here. Debord wasn't great, but we could do worse and probably will.
