What's the reason for Devin White being rated so low in the recruiting rankings?

Tough to figure out. He's a physical freak, recently measuring at 6'1" 253, running a 4.57 laser timed 40 (4.46 handheld). He dominates on film (maybe as good a film as anyone in the country in this class) against as good of competition as anywhere in the country. Are grades an issue or something? In my eyes, he's a very strong candidate for the #1 overall player in the country as a RB or LB. What do a couple of the recruiting services see that everyone else doesn't?

The only reason I can think of is because he has no set position. He looks amazing at both linebacker and running back. Hard to give him a grade I guess

Then call him an Athlete like they do other guys that are 5*s. It's baffling to me. He's an absolute monster.

I'm in agreement with you. Dude is vastly underrated. He's an athletic freak and it actually translates to the field. Unfortunately, only QB LT and DE usually get the number 1 spot

How do you feel about Bama's chances to land him?

At the moment, they are a LOT higher than that. We'll see how it shakes out. Those close to the situation at the coaching level seem to think Bama's way out in front. We'll see. Bama makes the most sense with both Henry (presumably) and Drake gone after this year.

He's going to form a great duo with Damien Harris. Ingram/Richardson part II.

That being said, I'll say the same thing if he goes to Ole Miss or LSU.

This could be the biggest year for clashes in the state of La. between Bama and LSU. Bama being in great shape for Willie Allen is no surprise to even the most hardcore LSU fan. Bama's in good shape at this moment for Rashard Lawrence. Also, will be good battles for White and Mykel Jones. Will be interesting to see how much LSU goes after the TE Aucoin that Saban supposedly loves and Josh Perry (ditto).

In regards to.....
White: I have no idea who leads but I think both staffs are feeling good. I know LSU with coach O are emphasizing north LA a lot more than years past which should help

Jones:I think it's definitely a plus with daylon going to yall

Allen: Jimmy smith says that LSU was his childhood favorite (he was quoted as saying he wants to the commit since he's loved since he was young) I hate to lose OT but we had a great hall this year so it wouldn't be the end of the world. However Curtis has been really good to us excluding Joe McKnight

Lawrence: Lawrence is a legacy that fits better in our system as a gap shooter. I really feel like we land him to go along with Alexander

Could yall give some info on perry and the other guy?

Been told by some people he only tries when the ball is in his hands or when the play is around him. Maybe a lack of motor turns off the rankings guys

I pretty much all around agree with you. Going to be a major battle in Louisiana this year. For innocent shits and giggles I'll go ahead and say i think yall will pull White, Willie, and Shyheim will stay true and we'll get Rashard Lawrence imo. Im excited to see how it plays out, regardless of where a recruit goes I love this shite.

Right now Lawrence is a Bama lean. That could very well change several times, and could easily change the next time he visits Baton Rouge. At this moment, he's a Bama lean. Who knows tomorrow?

While Allen isn't a lock, it would be a shocker if he wound up anywhere but Bama. He's been a Bama fan for a while now.

Aucoin... not highly rated yet, but appears to be an excellent blocking TE prospect. Bama wants one of these badly this year.

Josh Perry... I don't know much about him myself. Just know that Bama's coaches are high on him.

As for White, someone whose info I trust a lot has been saying his dad has wanted him at Bama for a while now. He seems to be Saban's personal project this year. CNS seems to want him as much as anybody we're recruiting. He carted him all over campus Saturday personally.

Very well could be how it plays out. I'd say that I feel better about Allen and White than Lawrence, even though people are saying Bama leads at the moment.

Bama's in good position for Rashan Gary, Janarius Robinson (current FSU commitment on verge of flipping), Benito Jones (committed to Bama first, now Ole Miss... Bama coaches are very confident with him), Kendell Jones, Jr. and Simmons from MS at the moment, among others. Looks like both schools clean up on the DL this time.

I'll add to that and say that if Marlon Davidson transfers back to his old HS in Montgomery, Bama feels like it has about a 50/50 shot. With him at his current HS, the chances seem to be a good bit lower.

I'm gonna disagree on Lawrence. While I do believe he had a great visit, I'm pretty sure he's an lsu lean and will be wearing purple and gold. On allen, Curtis has been good to us but it would not surprise me if he ended up with yall. I believe carter is yalls but I don't know about white. His recruitment is everywhere

Of course this is my opinion. I'm not claiming any sources or any other bs. Just what I think

Lawrence is anything but a Bama lean. He's open at the moment but a lot of people close to him, Including, his uncle who played at LSU, think he's LSU bound. He's got a great relationship with Coach O. And O is making Rashad feel like a priority. He's got family all over the country including Oregon.
