He just listed AU and Bama as his top 2. UGA was the favorite until BoBo and the Oline coach went to CSU. What are yall hearing?
To me it seems like AU is the favorite now

I would bet Bama if UGA screws up the hire.

Last 5 CBs have been for Alabama, all in the last 24 hours.

How many are from reliable predictors?

Not coming to UGA. Between the Bobo and Friend issue and we can't/won't take him as an EE, it seems to be mutual parting (or else I think he'd at least wait to see who we take on before basically dropping us).
Raw but a great player. Sucks to lose out on him but we may have bigger issues to worry about right now.

This kid was interested in LSU a while back when he was still living in Miami. He has an official coming up is there any chance we can land him or is he sold on the alabama schools

Apparently, he wants to get into the 2015 class due to new NCAA requirements for core classes coming in next year. To get in UGA, he would need to complete 5 more core credits than he would to get into Auburn and 3 more than he would need to get into Bama. So he would be taking the risk of passing all these classes through next summer if he chose UGA.
Not sure where LSU is on this as far as admissions requirements.
Apparently starting next year the NCAA will require a 2.3 GPA and 16 core credits. UGA already requires 17 which is why I think we often hear of guys that are considered academic risks being dropped by UGA and end up in being admitted to other schools. At least the field will be more level starting next year.

UGA requires 17 core classes and still can't spell DAWG right?

Probably our biggest miss this year. Kid is massive and raw and will probably end up being one of the best players from this class. He is going to be a stud. Bama or AU will get a beast.

UGA pulling the Tech card now? Never thought I'd see the day.

This isn't about core classes. We just had two coaches leave. The OL coach who was his primary recruiter, and the OC who was also recruiting him.
It's not rocket science.

I think the 17 core credits issue is a state wide Georgia requirement, not just UGA. That is my understanding, but I could be wrong.
You probably grew up in Georgia, want to anything insightful?

My insight is that, outside of possibly Vanderbilt, academics have never precluded a highly regarded athlete from signing with one SEC school over another.

YOu would be wrong. Some teams don't have the same entrance requirements as other teams. We aren't talking basic SAT scores or anything like that. Core classes for basic entry into the institution. Steve Spurrier for instance had to get special exemptions for athletes so that he could get academic casualties into school a few years back and now he gets as many waivers as he needs.

Florida had a highly recruited kid get admissions rejected. Auburn missed out on Lavon Hooks at Ole Miss because our admissions didn't accept a D in a core class.
Some schools definitely have higher standards than others
