If Texas ended up with Cherry and Kirkland volnation would not be very thrilled with the way this solid class is finishing.

Not necessarily. Last year at LB we took:
Dillon Bates - 4*
Cortez McDowell (Converted from S) - 4*
Gavin Bryant - 4*
Chris Weatherd - 4*
Elliot Berry - 3*
Jakob Johnson - 3*
Don't get me wrong, I hope Butch is able to get him to Knoxville, but I don't think this class is one I wouldn't be thrilled about because he's not a part of it.

We had to. For the most part Dooleys classes had a good national ranking, but for what ever reason it seemed like all the top echelon talent either transferred, murdered their moms ex-boyfriend, or got kicked off for academics, etc. Outside of last years OL, butch got stuck with all of Dooleys "diamonds" and it killed us, particularly with speed.

There is definitely talent there, I just meant that it would suck to back off Cherry a little bit, only to not get the guy you backed off him for. I guess I would be happy overall if I was a Tennessee fan though. Butch has done a really good job recruiting so far.

Our Rivals guys said Texas felt like they had a chance coming out of his visit but after things settled down they continue to hear TN is the team to beat here.
That is code for we already have the article written and he is silently committed.
I would be shocked if we don't land him today, but anything is possible.
