Composite 5-stars:

Trey Smith (Tennessee)
JaCoby Stevens (LSU)
Tee Higgins (Clemson)

Rivals:

Jacob Phillips (LSU)

Only one has chosen to play for the Volunteers (and his sister is Butch's secretary).

What the hell is going on up there?

It's not what is going on up there. It's what isn't going on up there (winning). Those kids all felt they would win more games and be better coached at LSU and Clemson compared to Tennessee. And they're likely right...I bet most objective Tennessee fans would agree.

They chose to play for a better team that's all. Anyone without a bias would choose to play for lsu over tennessee. It's really not a tough decision. It's a business decision.

Could be, but I wonder if you still use this logic when a kid from Louisiana chooses Alabama over LSU?

You hate to lose in state studs but as long as you get some out of state studs no one will remember it in a year.

You must be new here.

In-state studs from Louisiana who choose to play for Alabama are given a lifetime ban from the state.

Does this only apply to LSU getting out-of-state players?

Every time a Louisiana kid makes a business decision to go somewhere besides LSU, you fans go ballistic.

Higgins-Was committed to VOLS early in the process. A combination of things led to this flip.

1. When Tennessee took Guarantano in the 16 class it led to Hunter Johnson decommitting and flipping to Clemson. Johnson and Higgins had been trying to get Amari Rodgers on board at Tennessee, but Rodgers was recruited much harder by Clemson and Rodgers and Johnson ended up getting Higgins to flip.
2. What WR would ever choose Tennessee over Clemson right now?

Phillips- Tennessee fricked this recruitment up from the start. Some horrible evaluation and out of state takes early on that were inexplicable.

Stevens-Tennessee seemed to recruit him hard but he never showed a great deal of interest.

Yall are delusional. You just promoted a position coach to head Coach (after a season where you were supposed to win 11/12 games in the regular season according to your fans) and we both have 25 wins in the past 3 years.

oh wait its the offseason you probably don't remember any of that..time to gear up for that top 10 preseason poll position and get ready to beat bama again right??

I don't think you'll find anyone outside of Knoxville that thinks Tennessee, currently, is as attractive to recruits as LSU. Clearly, given LSU somehow landed two of the four 5 stars from the state of TN, which isn't even in LSU's backyard. LSU lost 2 layup games due to them being cancelled the past 2 years. Conference records over the last 3 years are LSU at 14-10 and Tennessee at 12-12. LSU has played in a much tougher division as well.

I don't really care who LSU hired to replace Les Miles, Butch had a senior laden team and still managed to lose to Vandy and South Carolina.

Tennessee is a disaster right now, without a doubt.

But let's not forget that LSU just fired Les Miles because he couldn't beat Saban and subsequently hired Ed Orgeron.

I'll say this, I live in Nashville and I don't find it to be some UT homerville. Phillips and Stevens are both from around here. (Stevens from about 30 minutes away)

I feel like most people who live here aren't even from Tennessee. Massive amount of fans from schools all over the South.

Its not like a Baton Rouge kid leaving like Allen and Moses. Totally different situation.

They are in search for more than just a championship of life.

I kid. There have been so many people that have moved into Tennessee over the last decade or so and many of these players didn't grow up Vol fans.

We were never getting Stephens or the other guy

Really painting a picture of 2 incredibly different schools here. So much difference between the 2, especially when we have played the best in the west for the past 3 years

Les Miles replacement couldn't punch it in on the goalline with 2 great running backs and hand Butch the east for us

Les Miles was fired for losing to Wisconsin and Auburn in the first 4 games when he had a preseason top 5 team while already on the hot seat for getting blown out 3 straight games last year after getting to #2 in the first CFP ranking.
