Well we saw it on twitter. Guess it's legit. Cause no one in recruiting says something on twitter 6 months before signing day and does something different...

Seriously though, doubt he comes to Florida. They haven't even been on him much in forever.

Lol

quote:

Florida message boards caught fire Sunday night when a series of 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions came in for Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic quarterback Jarrett Guarantano, a Tennessee commit, to flip to the Gators. Those predictions came in hours after the Vols landed a commitment from top 2017 quarterback Hunter Johnson. Guarantano told NothJersey.com and ESPN.com that his pledge to Tennessee was still firm.

Checking with sources close to Florida's program throughout the day Monday, the general consensus was the situation blown out of proportion. Florida has long been recruiting Guarantano, in fact he was one of the signal callers McElwain and staff targeted as soon as taking over in Gainesville. It does not appear an SEC East flip is imminent for Guarantano, regardless of Crystal Ball predictions.

Right? You would think people would learn the rules for the recruiting board.

Oh no, are you going to start crying and whining to admins again?

I like how you try to play the victim after you edited your post

You take the internet entirely too seriously, Mr. Powerbottom.

Butch was his fathers position coach when his father played WR at Rutgers in the early 90's. He left there one of their all-time leaders in receiving. Butch has been close to that family for awhile now. Also, why would Jarrett be concerned with a QB coming in after him?

Read an update from Gators 247 guys... They said the JG stuff was blown way out of proportion. Apparently Florida had been trying for a while by staying in contact but they are doing same with Franks, Haskins and someone else trying to flip a 2016 kid. So their contact was nothing new and has never materialized into anything serious

Sucks being UF trying to pick up UT scraps, but that's the way it is right now.

Shoot I'll admit right now CBJ appears to be an elite recruiter. I won't go as far as saying he's an elite coach. That takes at least 2 things, elite rectruiting ability and elite gameday coaching skills. See Saban and Meyer. Not sold on Butch as a game day coach at this point.

Hopefully, Mac can get us back where we need to be soon. I think 2017 will be our first breakout class. With social media etc these day you just have to get on kids so early. Our staff is still playing catch up at this point.

I think that's very fair. I'm not sold on Butch as a coach yet but I think 2015 should give us a pretty good idea about what he can do.

As far as recruiting, I would put Jones in the top 5 nationally of best recruiting head coaches.

You have a short memory. Remember when Mac had two months to salvage our recruiting class that was ranked 96th when he took over? In two months he managed to bring us all the way up to 20th. Mac did a helluva job and if there's any success on the field for Florida this year, this class is going to take off. Even if there isn't a ton of success this season, Florida will end up with a top 10 class. Pump the brakes on him not being a "closer" because in his only opportunity to close, it seems to me that he did pretty good.

Dooley didn't have any trouble bringing in enough slaw 3 stars to get ranked about 20th either.

seriously tenn is basically a slightly better kentucky or vandy to any gator fan under 40

That's not fair- I mean they were kind of competitive at one time- like if UK had pulled off one or two close wins under Mumme or with Woodson then they would be equal. UT is like a less challenging and hard fought version of the South Carolina rivalry.

That's not what Mac did though he closed elite talent late Martez, CC, Jordan Scarlett. This season is a bit off (though it could turn around with a strong offensive year) but 2017 looks like it could be a top 3-5 year.
