Akers made the trip, with his mother by his side, and it seems that the trip was a major success for LSU. The Tigers running backs coach Jabbar Juluke spent a lot of time with prized running back, as his wife Denise spent ample time with his mother. The foursome are said to have forged a tight bond that could work in the Tigers' favor down the road. The Tigers appear to be in a two-team battle with rival Ole Miss for Akers' services. The pitch was simple: Come here and play early, with Leonard Fournette destined for the NFL, and be the next great back at LSU. Akers is listening.

He would be a huge get for LSU and I think we are sitting in a pretty good spot right now for him.

He and Carter would be a great RB duo for this class.

To me Akers is the key piece to this class either being very good or great. Smith could also be that difference maker but we have a much better shot at Akers IMO.

About 3 other teams in the SEC alone can say this.

It would be nice but when you have random bags of cash show up on your doorstep with a black bear emblem on them its kinda hard to ignore.

I think hes going to Ole Miss until the NCAA steps in.

Whoever ends up with Akers likely did some shady things to land his signature.

I agree, but there is still a long way to go, and I still think it's possible we end up with Akers and Carter.

I think OSU is the only realistic spot outside the SEC for him as of now, although i think he's visiting FSU in a few weeks.

But yea. He has been at OSU twice, and is supposed to be back June 3 weekend. Who knows who will get him in the end

Carter is liking A&M right now, so wouldn't be surprised if he went there.
