I thought he decommitted from Arkansas because he wanted to be closer to his sick dad?

Great pickup. Not that we recruit basketball but I've heard of him due to proximity.

Sure it's closer, but typically when using the sick family member excuse the recruit will stay within a few hours at most, not over 7 hours away. There's a ton of closer schools than that. Sounds like it was just an excuse to decommit and make people feel better about it.

I agree. It's not like he's going to be able to come home any more from Starkville than from Fayetteville. Maybe he meant philosophically because he chose the school his dad went to.

What I'm thinking, it definitely had nothing to do with being closer to a sick family member like he originally said.

Who cares. The kid changed his mind. He doesn't have to give a reason.

He's the one who gave a reason, and it turns out it was just bullshite. That's kind of what we're pointing out.

I'll be sure to remind every college recruit that he has to justify his college decision to ThunderBird over here. Sorry we forgot.

In case you weren't aware, it's a discussion message board we're on. Funny things like this get discussed. Sorry to get your panties in a wad over pointing out his reason for decommitting was just a bullshite excuse.

Your "he doesn't have to give a reason" excuse is pretty dumb when, in fact, he gave a specific reason why he decommitted.

Not like State is in better shape, not like it's that much easier to get home from... there is nothing that makes any kind of logical sense. You take it from there.

What about change his mind? Is that okay? You know, the same way Arlando Cook did from Nevada and then went to Arkansas.

Who cares about his reason (sick dad or just plain changed his mind).

And it's 7 hours car ride vs. 13 hours car ride. That's a whole 6 hour difference.

Arlando took a step up from Nevada to Arkansas.
Not the case with Reggie.
If Perry had picked Kentucky, Duke, Kansas... well yeah he lied but went to a blue blood.
If he really wanted to be close to his 'sick dad', he would go to FSU, or one of the other several closer schools.

He's a legacy. That's how I sum it up.

That's a big difference. You get the call that says you need to come home, it's a reasonable drive. 13 hours not so much.
