Not true. We were always going to take 2 backs, and there's a group of 5 that are all pretty similar.
There are no running backs in Texas this year that are head and shoulders above the rest of the "good" crop.

Congrats on Boyd, Ags. I really like him a lot. I know a lot of people are down on this 2016 RB class in Texas - but i think Boyd is a take in any cycle.

I think a fair number of Texas recruits overall are just waiting longer to commit. For us and UT they are probably using a wait and see approach. I think the days of the top 20 instate being mostly done in the spring before are gone.

Boyd has definitely been underrated because he was (is?) a grade risk. I am honestly surprised he had as many quality offers as he had. Sumlin rarely offers a kid who doesn't make it in, so he must have done some courses over the summer (or received a good ACT score) that made us feel good about his chances.
As a talent, the dude is probably as good as any Texas running back in this year's class.

There's honestly about 5 guys this year that are interchangeable. Not a lot of separation in this class at the position.
