I haven't followed his recruitment at all. So can someone explain to me why a 5* basketball recruit is most likely going to Mississippi State over Kentucky? Seems fishy

It's the closest college to where he lives, his dad played there, star of an otherwise bad team as the focal point of an offense, and playing under a coach that's sent Russell Westbrook and Darren Collison to the NBA.

Well he's from Mississippi. That's A. And his father played at State or is a big State fan if IIRC. Also, Ben Howland is their coach.
Who gives a frick if it seems fishy? It's college recruiting. Any successful program does it. An Auburn fan should know this better than anyone.

Kid wants to be "the man"...he is not going to be "the man" at UK. To be honest, it seems the kid has his sites on getting his stats and wanting to be a PG (kid would be better served playing the 2). Plus, his dad is a former State player.
Would love to have the kid in Lexington, but to be honest, he may be too much trouble and I could see him and Cal butting heads.

I never said any of that to be false? He said he was never going to LSU which obviously is not true as well did I know it was probably MSU two weeks ago but I didn't learn that from the rant. State made a good hire in Howland, the kid's dad played at State, and UK already has a very good established PG in Tyler Ulis. Calipari sold him on playing the 1/2 combo like Wall and Bledsoe did in the past. He didn't want that.
