you admitted you only watched a few highlights of him on youtube so don't try to pretend you know what you're talking about

I've made you look like a fool before and have no qualms with doing it again

Now have seen him in two all-star games. Of course those aren't good games to take anything from, but unless we are dealing with the next Magic or LeBron (we're not), I wouldn't want my 6'9" SF playing PG.

No no no. See you've made yourself look like a fool. Not me.

Really good get by MSU, Newman is going to be a big man on campus next season and respect his decision. Of course I would have loved him in LSU, but its not often a top recruit like him goes on his own to lead a program, even if its most likely for one season.

he didn't want to share touches with anyone at PG and that just wasn't going to happen with Ulis at UK
And you followed this up with it wouldn't happen at LSU either because Simmons handling the ball alot (I assumed you were talking about the PG position as that was the original comment).

Either way y'all were never even in it. Only people who thought so or reported LSU was in the hunt were all LSU biased.

I know. You haven't seen me on this board saying anything else. I'm perfectly content with our class thus far.

It was kinda easy to assume you were talking about PG when that is what Belle, who you were replying to, was talking about. My apologies, however. Simmons will be good; I just wouldn't want him playing PG.

It shouldn't be easy to assume anything.

Most fathers teach their kids that, is my point.

The point I was making ws that LSU will be a run-and-gun type of team again and Simmons will be a point forward who will be leading those fast breaks a lot.

See what I mean about handling the ball but not being the pg? They do this at many schools and every NBA team.

I should start charging you fwiw.

What college uses a point forward? Haha

I wasn't trying to make anything of this but you're a dumb arse.

Simmons is an elite ball handler and facilitator. So you watched the game where he had 9 assists in limited minutes and decided you wouldn't want that kind of guy handling the ball?

Why do people keep acting like all-star games are the end all be all. They are all-star games, you can not take anything away from an all-star game. Why? Because NOBODY is playing defense till the last two minutes.

Rayburn-Even in those all star games, Simmons was the BEST BALL HANDLER on the court.

Simmons was the best ball handler on the court in those games and that's the top talent in the country...what else do you need to see? It's not like he didn't do the same on his aau and high school teams. They want him to run the show the majority of the time because he not I ly can dominate himself but routinely knows when to pass to get others involved. He averaged over 6 assists a game this year.

Simmons was not the best ball handler lol. He is the number 1 player so they let him do what he wanted.

The dude had 9 assists in one of those all-star games, he is as elite a ball handler as it gets. It's the REASON why he's the #1 overall prospect. He's 6'9 with elite PG ball handling skills. He's not #1 overall because of his jump shot or long range game which is merely developing. He's #1 due to his ability to handle the ball at an elite level at his size.

We're talking ball handling and you're talking about passing. While they aren't mutually exclusive, the assists he racks up are because he draws double and triple teams and finds the wide open man.

So he has Kyrie Irving type handles? Nope. He's an above average ball handler for his size but certainly nothing earth shattering.

Wrong. He's number 1 because of his size and athleticism.

Did you not see him multiple times SPRINT down the floor faster than everybody handling the ball? That's pretty damn good ball handling for anyone close to his size.

There are multitudes of guys with his athleticism at his size, hell Martin and Mickey had elite athletcism at his size basically...the difference is Simmons is an ELITE player still with the ball in his and and the ability to facilitate. That's exactly why he is #1. Sure, nice handles looks good, but it doesnt make you a great ball handler, being a great ball handler is also about the ability to make good passes than other folks simply cant. Simmons doesnt just get the ball inside draw 2-3 defenders then pass out for an easy assist like you make it out to be, he RUNS the offense through himself and creates opportunities for others all the time.

Well I guess I showed up late to the party...Simmons and Newman are both very good ball handlers look at either of their highlight tapes and you'll see the answer. Simmons is ahead of Newman for a reason...whatever that reason is its well deserved. With that being said Newman is a monster so everyone should just be happy with who they got.

LSU fans: we signed a bomb arse class.

State: you got someone your program doesn't deserve but I respect him for staying home (no disrespect intended)
