Big time tackle prospect. Been hoping for a while that Georgia could turn this one around.

He was really honest in his decommitment. You don't see that too often.

With Ashley committed and our depth looking like shite I hope we can sell him on coming to UGA. Our OL recruiting has been pretty shitty at Tackle.

Sucks, UGA definitely has the more appealing depth chart over Bama. Bama signs 4-5 every year, it might eventually affect someone.

Same reason I'm not worried, as long as Mario is here, Bama will get theirs and more. 2 good instate tackles and lead for Wyatt Davis on the West Coast...

I don't blame him, we've loaded up in the Oline the past two classes.

Auburn (for now at least)

He's good friends with Antwaun Jackson. Just visited AU. Said we were his no. 2 (Behind Bama).

Is he a guard or tackle, it lists him as both on 247.

Does he project at guard or tackle in college? I'm no expect, but he seems built more like an interior lineman than a tackle.

Edit: dammit randy

Would be a good get for either. Both need him. WE lost both our tackles to the draft..

I'm surprised this doesn't happen more often. Kids get to watch all of the excitement of signing day and decide they want to be part of it the next year.

It's annoying because unless the commit is silently committed then it's hard to save that spot or you get left empty handed like EJ Price did to us. You try to get the right guys that you feel good about but waiting till signing day can really frick the team over.

After the new BOL interview, I think he's auburn's to lose. But there was a pretty funny quote at the end.

quote:

Playing time,” Johnson said. “I just really want to play. Some people say I’m scared of competition – it’s not that. They’re not going to the school and I don’t want a lot of people at the same position as me and then I’m going to have to fight with them. It’s not like I’m not better than them or nothing, but that’s really one of the things.

He's not scared of competition, he just doesn't want any around, even though he's better than them.

At least he's honest.

Probably but we don't have much competition at UGA either. We have struck out horribly on Tackle prospects the last few years but we do lead for a few this year that are good looking prospects.

His coach is all about who is paying more in the Cost of Attendance.

I doubt we take many guards in the 2017 class. Several tackles probably. Maybe guys who can play tackle, but may eventually wind up at OG. We're as loaded (depth-wise) at OG as we were at DL this past year. Staggering depth. Now if one of them would just bench Shank Taylor....

I'd imagine Kirby will strongly emphasize recruiting on both sides of the line of scrimmage being the #1 priority. Being around Saban that long, surely he took that much away from his time.

Already has. Our size on both lines is taking a step up already with this class
