McKinney Decommits from Alabama

"First of all I would like to thank all of my family, coaches, and friends for supporting me through this decision. I would also like to thank Coach Saban and Coach Ansley and the whole Alabama staff that gave me this opportunity but I would like to open my options back up by de-committing. I feel like this is the best thing to do so I can re-evaluate things. There is no timetable for a decision. I would like no interviews from anyone at this time. Thank you."
The Peach State safety had been committed to the Crimson Tide since last September.
McKinney continued taking visits following his commitment, notably to Georgia and Florida. Both the Bulldogs and Gators will be strong contenders to land the Top247 defensive back going forward.
At 6-foot-1, 192 pounds, McKinney is rated the No. 11 safety and the No. 108 overall player in the country, per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite.
The decommitment leaves the Tide with 14 commitments in its 2017 class.

I like our chances here however our DB class is tight. It's a good problem to have I suppose.

It's a good problem and a shitty problem at the same time. Your teams got talent and depth but as a fan you always want the best players regardless of the depth.

UGA had a WR decommit today also, I agree Clemson looks to be in the drivers seat. He has already received a CB to Clemson from somebody at the AJC.

Shocked at this dismissal, but I expect it'll be Clemson, UGA and Florida before coming down to Clemson v UGA.

Saw him early in the week at a local 7 on 7. Was head to toe in Oregon gear.
