LSU received it's second commitment for this class from Florida ATH, Justin Watkins, immediately after he received his "dream offer."

Watkins joins Texas QB, Zadoch Dinkelmann , who committed to the Tigers back in February of last year.

mmmmm good info. Boasting about the 1st place in the title is a tad redundant.

It couldn't honestly be a more blatant attempt at the humor surrounding recruiting these days.

The again, when you're competing against a school who signed the #1 baseball class last season, #3 football class, and now the #1 basketball class, there's going to be a lot of rustle to go around

I saw this thread for the joke it was. But this post makes me hate this thread.

I was almost 24 hours ahead of Shea with this.

quote:

The LSU staff has already assembled an impressive recruiting class for 2016, grabbing verbal commitments from nine rising seniors - which is good for fifth nationally and second in the SEC. And with the names showing interest still on the board, the finished product next February could bring the Tigers the No. 1 overall class.

But that's not the only waves LSU is making on the recruiting trail right now.

On Friday, the Tigers offered Florida freshman Justin Watkins, and a few hours later, he gave the staff a verbal commitment. But surprisingly enough, he wasn't the first 2018 prospect to commit to LSU. Offensive coordinator Cam Cameron accepted a verbal pledge from Texas quarterback Zadock Dinkelmann more than a year ago - when he was still in middle school.

With two freshmen in high school now committed, the Tigers join Miami as the only two programs in the country to take a commitment from anyone younger than a sophomore.

LSU has already handed out seven total offers to 2018 prospects, and the staff has also handed out more than 30 offers to current high school sophomores - including seven offers made here in Louisiana.

Headed into the spring evaluation period, LSU already has two commitments for the 2017 class, as well. Dylan Moses, the nation's No. 1 overall prospect, will have been committed for two years by the time football season rolls around. And earlier this spring, the Tigers offered and accepted a commitment from Lafayette standout Tyler Shelvin, who is ranked as the No. 3 defensive tackle prospect in the country.

LSU's 2017 class currently ranks No. 1 in the SEC and No. 4 in the country, behind only Ohio State, Miami and Florida State.

I hear LSU's 2025 class is going to be the best ever. There's a really strong class of third graders in the peewee league. I bet Les will be offering them soon.

You say that as if Saban didn't offer Moses in his 8th grade year. Except 6 months after lsu and having not actually seen him in person.
