This is a legacy kid, his father played for LSU.

Does he play AAU because there's not much on him from any sites?

Yeah he's like ghost trying to find video or info. Which is crazy for a Louisiana Player of the Year. But he does play for the Louisiana Elite:

Seems to lead the team by quite a bit averaging 15.7 ppg and 6.8 rpg and only 1.4 turnovers per game. But Louisiana Elite got pummeled it looks like in most games (not much talent on it...I only recognize Herb Mcgee and Khalea Turner).
The scouting report on him is he's a PF in a SF body currently with a 3 point game that just isn't there yet but seems he has a solid mid-range jumper. He's around 6'6, 210 pounds currently so he has a nice frame for a SF but hasn't developed that full game quite yet. Here's one video I found that includes him:

He had nice form on his shot. He'll probably turn out to be a decent pickup especially if Jones continues to bring in top talent around him.

Yeah he's definitely a program 4-year guy. He is very much like a slightly less athletic Michael Qualls (Sims is a very good athlete, but not on the level of Qualls who could jump out of a gym). Qualls didnt have a 3 point game when he got to Arkansas but developed one by his 2nd season....that's what I'm thinking Johnny Jones hopes he can develop and stay at the 3 with that kind of size and not end up like Brian Bridgewater as an undersized 4.

I like LSU's strategy of blending one and done talent with 4 year guys.
In other LSU basketball recruiting news. Young Simmons is dominating the Nike Elite Camp
....
@nbadraftnet: Was great seeing @BenSimmons25 match up w one of the game's elite players @JHarden13 & hold his own. #NikeBasketballAcademy
@CJMooreBR: Ben Simmons showing he can guard right now against Anthony Davis. Fun matchup. Two freaks.
@Russ_Steinberg: Non-JCDH note: Ben Simmons was dominant. Looked better than anyone, even Harden.
@Mike_Schmitz: Ben Simmons is far and away the best passer out here. Distributed from anywhere on the floor with either hand.
@Jigga2cal: Ben Simmons just makes the right play over & over & over. Unbelievable IQ and passing like a PG #NikeBasketballAcademy

Funny, I heard from a certain group of fans on here he was nowhere near being a PG...

I just didn't understand the butthurt over a few high schoolers making irrational comparisons to Lebron. However, the hype around Simmons' performance at the Nike Summit makes the whole situation that much more epic
