I don't think it's anything new or an epidemic, just unfortunate for Alabama.

Which exception would that be? Alabama has had two football players pass a semester of college coursework before being found ineligible, one for a gym class. Why didn't these two fall under the "Alabama exception"?
I hate to break it to you, but LSU isn't exactly Harvard. LSU fans have no reason to talk if Chidi makes it in. We would never hear the end of it if an Alabama player was found academically eligible under Chidi's circumstances.
