If he was going to UK he would have given UK a verbal by now...he knows it's all bama in his heart he just wants to wait till his season is over so he doesn't get booed out the state...y'all got Cousins and Bledsoe we'll take Elam

, relax. I know UK has a great chance with him and UT isn't in the picure. It was chance to take a shot and i took it. Cal would have slipped him a $100 after taking that picture if he had any leftover from this years recruiting class...

Keep on thinking that.

Or he wants to commit to UK at the Army All-American Game to put that Kentucky brand out there.

Except what to do after they win a game?
Who in the hell would want to play for Kentucky if they had better options and weren't guilt tripped? Better yet you guys care so little about football why in the hell are you even guilt tripping kids?

Why are you always bashing other programs? We've had this discussion several times in the Bama recruiting thread. Prospects can and will pick other programs over Bama because there are many factors that go into the decision besides how successful the program is

Because you can get to the NFL at Kentucky just as well? Wesley Woodyard, Danny Trevathan, Corey Peters, Trevard Lindley are just a few off the top of my head in recent years. And Stoops himself has a pretty solid personal track record of that as well.

Who's guilt tripping anyone? Stop being a homer moron.

I agree. If the kid picks UK it most likely isn't because he was "guilt tripped" or any of that nonsense. Or, I guess all those kids that committed to Bama during the Fran/Shula years were "guilt tripped".
The kid may have a genuine desire to stay home.

That is not the same thing. Alabama actually has history of greatness in football while Kentucky has been nothing in the sport.
Also you can make it to the NFL coming from Tuskegee, that doesn't mean you shouldn't go for a better option.

Then why have good players ever gone anywhere but Alabama, Florida, LSU, etc. in the SEC?
Hell, I know Kentucky Basketball is a good option for most 5-star kids with their eyes set on the NBA but I'm not dumb enough to think a kid won't want to stay close to home, might have a better connection with another coach, etc.

Why don't they all go to Tuskegee?
You're playing a game of extremes; you've brought one and then I pointed out the other side. Here's a clue, the answer is in the middle.
You bring up Kentucky basketball as if top players don't go there to enhance their ability, understanding and play level in hopes of going higher in the NBA.
This is a normal concept, to ignore it is ignorant. I this entire discussion I never said a player must go to Alabama for football or Kentucky for basketball. I did say it is an enhancement. So spare me the regurgitation of this misguided concept.

Not at all. I was making a valid comparison. A kid can not go to Kentucky (comparable to Alabama in football for argument's sake) and be a successful college basketball player who makes it to the NBA. Sure top players go to Kentucky to enhance their abilities and win big. But that doesn't make them any less of a player because they chose someone else they thought was a better fit due to other factors (that I listed). And I can readily acknowledge Kentucky isn't for everyone.
Same argument works for someone not choosing Alabama Football. Especially when he has a SEC school instate who recently hired a defensive minded coach who can develop players for the NFL.
I wouldn't knock him for going to Alabama at all. But it's silly that some y'all can't grasp the idea that not everyone has to go to Alabama to become a successful player.

And FWIW, after his visit to Notre Dame they're all crowing that he's theirs. Go figure.

Staying home close to mama. He is coming to Kentucky.

Only if the comparison that Alabama Basketball and Kentucky football are similar in which they are not.
And Kentucky landing a 5 star is guilt tripping, you guys aren't a good program going through a bad time you are a bad program. Its funny kids didn't up and commit to Shula over Urban Meyer on the regular but in just one generation kids want to be a star at a sh thole.

Dude, you're awful. You're the worst Bama poster on this board. There's a reason that your fellow fans dislike you.
Believe it or not, Bama doesn't get every single recruit that they want, and it has nothing to do with guilt tripping.
Posted on 10/21/13 at 6:33 pm to CatFan81
Who said they get every recruit they want? Its you guys acting you should even be recruiting the same caliber of athlete. If Matt Elam's address wasn't in Kentucky would you guys even be mentioned? No
Posted on 10/21/13 at 6:45 pm to Libertyabides71
Wow. You're not very bright, and you might have ABDIW beat for biggest homer on the entire board.
Matt Elam grew up a Kentucky fan. His mom is a Kentucky fan. If he's good enough for the NFL, he'll make it there regardless of whether he chooses to play for Kentucky or Alabama.
Stop being so arse hurt that we might get a recruit over you. You're acting like a whiny little bitch.

If you guys aren't going to win with him why even bother? Y'all have never been competitive and you don't really care about football. Matt Elam might get you guys a mention on ESPN before November, but he will likely get a national championship ring at Bama.

We have the best recruiting class in our programs history coming in next season. #7/#16 in the country, without Elam. That will improve if he commits to us.

What the frick do you know about our fans? There are plenty of us that care just as much, if not more, about football than we do basketball. You wouldn't understand that though. You're too simple.

Guess we'll see about that, Cleatus.
He's already really close friends with many of our current commitments. He's close to our staff. At Kentucky he can be a hero, not just another player in the endless flow of big time recruits. He would start immediately for us. For you... not so much.
