Lolololol

A Bama recruit is going to have to kill a hooker on a recruiting visit in his new Dodge before the NCAA will even take a look.

Amazing.

So we paid a kid who was 26th on our recruiting board?

Of course not! He's was just very disappointed he wasn't able to deliver the old go-to line, "I just want to thank Bama for all they've done for me and my family" in his speech this morning.

Bama fans will say sour grapes, but man if that was my kid I would tell him to have some damn pride. It's a pretty weak decision by him

I'm a Bammer, and I'd have advised him to go a different route were it my kid.

Yea - that would be one of those choices that my kid would have totally convince me to allow. Too many other good options with clearer paths.

But hey - he's a competitor and wants to be at Alabama. Like kids who walk on at P5 schools instead of accepting scholarships at ULL or FIU.

Why?

If a kid genuinely wants to go to a particular school and decides it is worth the wait, what's wrong with that decision?

Saban probably told him there were a few 6 stars he wasn't going to get past anyways.

He wants to be a champion. Sounds like a great quality for a young man.

It is not even that. It seems as if he is making an emotional decision that may well not be in his best interests.

He has lots of offers, I would think someone close to him and level headed would try to emphasize that this is probably not the best choice he could make. And I say that no matter which other school he would pick.

He has a pretty emotionally bruising moment earlier in the day, then agrees to this? Maybe it works out for him, but would anyone be surprised if he changed his mind about this in a week?

I hate it for him. Spoiled his big day. I think he had his heart made up for UA and decided to do what he needed to do to go there. More power to him. Best of luck that his choice is a good one for him. Too often it's forgotten that these guys are just HS kids.
Reading more into it than it is sounds like nothing more than spoiled fans being petty.

This, he is just taking a season off, not much more. He better just make sure he keeps his nose clean and continues to train/workout.

ETA, and who knows, maybe there will be a non qualifier
