Right now, it says they have 34 verbal commits. Did SEC not have a agreement to not sign more than 28??

Evidently, they let it slide, and now can fully count back.

Good question. I have a hard time understanding why this wasnt brought to our attention sooner. But why I'm here, what do you think of Trey Quinn.

Signee limit is 25
Initial counter limit is 25
Total counter limit is 85

Nothing has changed with back counting early enrollees. Nothing has changed for SEC schools since the 25 signee limit was already in effect as a conference measure. This is the first year it has been an NCAA rule across the board.

They are losing 14 starters from this years team. 2 ol, 3 receivers, micheal, and all thin defense including Moore. I think in 2 years they will be very good.

They signed only 19 last year so they can have six EE's and count them back to last year's class. That leaves them with 28 commits. They are obviously thinking that at least 3 will either not qualify or just go elsewhere. The hard limit is 25 per year and is non-negotiable.

Sr Starters - OL Pat Lewis, WR Ryan Swope, WR Uzoma Nwachukwu, WR Kenric McNeil, DT Spencer Nealy, LB Jonathan Stewart, LB Sean Porter, FS Steven Terrell, and part time starter CB/PR Dustin Harris. So 8.5 starters.

Also, 3 Jrs draft possibilities - OL Jake Matthews, OL Luke Joeckel, DE Damontre Moore

I hope they get another commitment soon and then we can try to figure out how they are able to sign 35.

Do you have any thoughts on RSJ??? Also do you think Landon Collins will transfer to lsu after the season, so he can play with his brother ? Thanks I'll hang up and listen.

Don't think they are finished. They still have to sign 12 more as in the 12th man.

This question has been asked at least two dozen times on this board. It has been answered at least 24 times.

Lsu signed 22 players and since Avery Johnson didn't enroll it ended up being 21. So this year they are allowed 29.

All the recruiting pundits on rivals and 247 have been talking about this

For this to be true, you would have to know that none of the 19 were EEs applied to the 2011 class. Do you know this?

Since many schools, including LSU, are signing EEs, has it occurred to you that he may be wrong? There is nothing in the rules that has changed that prohibit EEs. The 25 limit has an explicit exception for EEs.

Ponamsky is getting his info from sources at LSU, and there have been multiple reports that LSU compliance doesn't interpret the bylaws the same way as the rest of us that can read. Apparently LSU believes they can only take a max of 27, with Johnson and Fanaika being the only two that can count back.
