It's a cheesey gimmick and Aubies should be embarrassed.

However, it does seem to sway some of these weak-minded kids who are easily caught up in the hooplah...so who are we to say?

Stupid because you have no big cat. Should be "War Eagle Weekend" or something.

He says he prefers extremely small events where the coaches can spend a significant amount of time with the kids. Our "junior days" in the spring are like 5-6 kids. It's very disappointing. Really my only complaint about his recruiting so far at Arkansas.

LSU is doing a combo of a few big events with the small ones scattered in between. I think both types have their merits. The smaller events really help you sell aspects of the program that may not be evident during the cattle call events.

I always took it as the top recruits were the "big cats".

That's how I feel about most recruiting things. The 100s of letters, frick that. Goofy hash tags, frick that.

About the only recruiting thing I would be drawn to now is the free shite and the hostesses.

Instead of calling it "Big Cat Weekend" Auburn should rename the event "Big Pussy Weekend".

Dude, since we started doing it, half the SEC has copied it in their own way with their own angle and selling points.

Do you seriously need more confirmation?

Not to mention dipshit gumps get pissed about it. Just look at this thread.

Stupid question is stupid.

Does it get kids on campus? It appears it does and that's all that matters. The goal is to get kids there and give the staff time to work them. Big Cat does that so I see no way it can be criticized as a whole. Whether folk think its gimmicky or stupid is meaningless. It gets those kids on Auburns campus and away from others that weekend so its effective . Plenty of other places those kids could be this weekend instead of Auburn

If other schools are copying it, that tells you all you need to know. It works.
