I was skeptical when UGA hired Kirby but Jesus christ- Eason, Fromm and now it looks like Trevor Lawrence too. Not to mention it looks like Smart is throwing up a fence around the state. Don't look now but that sleeping giant might be waking up.

Congrats you QB stingy dicks.

- I like our chances against Clemson... UT made me a little more nervous just due to him growing up a fan and proximity. Seems like he really wants to play in a pro-style set, so will be cautiously optimistic.

You act like Clemson hasn't been snagging up QBs like you guys. They already have the #1 pro QB in 2017.

You both need to calm the frick down save some QBs for everyone else.

That's why he likes our chances against Clemson.

When? Because I said I like our chances? Reading comprehension stopped getting tested for after I got my MBA from FSU? Jesus.

And your point? Typically not a huge selling point to not at least have one year of separation there (ie. Eason, though Fromm is coming into his own in the 17 class as well).

I was unaware that cautiously optimistic is code for "Georgia Lock"...

Pretty soon you guys are going to be able to boast a trio to compete with...

Kirby's recruiting reminds me a lot about Saban's which gets me REALLY excited. Hopefully he will do good on the field though with all the talent he's getting, I think he will.

The last time Lawrence visited Athens he hung out downtown with Eason. It seems that Eason wants Lawrence on board and that Lawrence wants to compete against Eason. I hope that is the case because it would bode well for both QBs and the team.

I'm not forgetting that Jake Fromm also has the potential to be a championship QB.

Learn from him maybe, but Lawrence would redshirt his first year as QB and compete with Fromm in 2020 for the job.

Lawrence is too good to Redshirt IMO.

It's at least going to be tough to bring him in as the #1 QB in 2018, and tell him he has to sit out a year, before potentially only playing two.

Think Lawrence would get 3rd team mop up reps his freshman year? We haven't had that problem yet so I'm not sure how we'd handle it if he came and everyone stayed healthy.

He could potentially win the job. Kirby will play whoever gives us the best chance to win. He isn't Rucht

I'd say this is pretty much where the gist of it lies. He's going somewhere to compete and improve his stock for the NFL. The reality is there are plenty of guys who are "too good to redshirt" that don't see the field their freshman year. Particularly at QB.

As a true freshman in Eason's junior year? I know the kid is good but come on...

Putting a red shirt on him may be useless. If both are as good as advertised then I don't see Eason or Lawrence staying in Athens for more than 3 years. Only reason to redshirt him is if you think Fromm will beat him out.

If Lawrence commits to UGA I agree that he probably will not be the starter as a true freshman.

Regardless, that is exactly what he wants, imo. As a HS freshman he took the job away from 6'5" senior Miller Forristall. You think Trevor wouldn't love to take the UGA starter away from 6'6" Jacob Eason?
