Justin Fields (#1/#2 QB) is from Harrison.

I remember Daniel Cobb (QB) was from Harrison (sonic wanna fight)

What other notable players came out of Harrison?

Most famous one I can think of is Paul Oliver (RIP).

Wasn't a great football player but Jon Abate from Wake Forrest. His younger brother was killed and was a big deal during their runs to the ACC title games several years back. Had a movie made after them.

Darvin Adams was AU's #1 receiver when they won the title with Cam.

Robbie Godhigh started at RB for Tech.

Corey Patterson was the #3 pick in the MLB draft.

Adam Everett had a solid MLB career.

Those are pretty much it. They started out with a bang but they've been very average the last decade. Fields took them back up top and their upcoming freshmen class is supposed to be really strong so we'll see.

Not playing in the highest classification anymore will help them too.

Sure did last year. Although, Dalton and Allatoona are both tough.

weak. Surely HHS could have gotten themselves in 7A if they really wanted to.

They had a lot of D-1 talent on their teams during the 2001-2003 teams including Abbate (Wake), Cesa (Maryland), Jason Evans (Stanford), Lenahan (UNC), Case (Miami of Ohio), and of course P.O. (UGA). Outside of Jon and Paul, though, none of the others made much of an impact at that level, though.

They could have petitioned to play up but they made the smart move just like Valdosta. When teams have twice the number of students to pick from it makes it harder to win.

They have a long history of being afraid of the big dogs dating back to their ducking those powerhouse MHS teams in the late 90s over phony fears of fan safety.

Harrison High alumni here. Savage pretty much summed up all the notable alumni. Graduated with Darvin Adams, it was awesome to watch him in HS and then college as well. Luke Abbate was in my class as well. Football was pretty when I went to school there. Godhigh was a legit HS RB, although Darvin was better when he had a QB to throw him the ball.

They redistricted the schools though when Allatoona was built which hasn't helped Harrison. Brother did play b-ball with Fields in the 2nd grade though. You could tell that kid was a special athlete even at that age. Hope he is the next great HHS alumn to play at Auburn

Wait, so Harrison isn't playing at the highest classification anymore? Forgive me, I moved away 10 years ago so I'm a little out of the loop. Did something happen to change enrollment at Harrison? They used to be a lot bigger than my high school; when I graduated we had 1,500 students.

They are around 1600 now. I think the cut off is 1900 for 7a. Harrison and KMHS are kind of land locked and a lot of people have kids that already graduated so there's not much growth. Allatoona opened up but oddly enough most of the growth is at North Cobb.
