The sad thing is that, in the end, they will still finish mid pack because they don't have the depth to do any better in the SEC. I would be pissed at Tunsil for taking a huge dump on guys that he has had a relationship for two years, but the dude just decided to live in MS for 3-5 years. That is punishment enough in my opinion. Living in Oxford may be better than anywhere else in MS, but quite frankly, that is not saying much.

Like we should have given Butch Davis credit at UNC etc etc. Ole Miss is in full denial.

Yeah, after their visits to Oxford. That's not too unusual.

Like I've said, I've been to oxford and it is a nice place to be. But what IS unusual is that tunsil has flipped after visiting there for the FIRST time ever, while being a heavy UGA lean for over a year. He took his yearbook photo with UGA gear on, he and his fiancee have been talking about UGA for a while, we've been recruiting him hard for 2 years, he loves Athens and has formed relationships with several of our commits. So to do a 180 about face on all of that after ONE visit to oxford...you don't think that's shady?

Look, if OM offered his fiancee and brother full rides to school, I can see how LT would be more or less obligated to go there to better the lives of his sibling and future wife. And technically, I guess there's nothing against the rules with OM doing that..I don't know. I'm just saying it's sketchy and there's MUCH more to this whole situation than just "wow he loves oxford so much! Freeze is doing such a good job!" Any rebel fan who doesn't think there's something more than "come to ole miss, you can play early and live in oxford and we're really on the rise" going on has their head completely up their arse.

You can call BS if you want but the easiest way to recruit against OM is to say how stuck in the past we are and all that comes with that. Usually recruits realize when they get here that it is not at all how it was portrayed to them. I'm not saying that happened here but it is a recurring theme with our recruiting. We do extremely well with players we get to campus and they see what it's really like.

Come on WG Dawg.. Just admit you're not as close to the situation as you wanna be and that pisses you off.. Everyone will find out why Laremy decided to choose OM after signing day.. This stuff always comes out then.

I'm sure they do and I'm not denying that. But he'd been to Athens (which people can argue all day and night which town is better, although most people will give the nod to Athens) many times, and only made his first trip to Oxford recently, and then BAM is now committed to them? It's not like he was committed to Georgia Southern in statesboro then saw oxford and saw the light.

Look, here's the bottom line that everyone needs to take in. This isn't a situation for UGA like Dee Liner, who we've had some interest in but never really pursued, and they never had interest in us until the last minute, then they decided to go somewhere else. That would be totally understandable, and it's why no UGA fan anywhere really GAS that Liner isn't coming here. This situation is a guy that:

-UGA has been recruiting hard core for 2 years
-has worn UGA stuff in yearbook pictures
-mama LOVES us
-became friends with many of our commits/enrollees
-has been a STRONG lean to UGA for quite some time, maybe even a year
-has been to Athens multiple times
-has known our staff for years
-can legitimately compete for the national title

And yet, despite all that, after taking his FIRST visit to oxford a week before signing day has now all of a sudden decided he wants to go to ole miss? I don't care how died in the wool ole miss you are..there's something more than "I really like oxford" at play here.

I don't understand what you're trying to say.

Ole Miss was always in the conversation just not at the top like UGA and Bama. What if I said they were never up there because he thought Oxford was racist as frick. When he realized it wasn't we went to the top if the list? It has as much validity as saying we paid him.

Any truth to the news that OM gave his GF a scholarship?

What type of scholarship? What is she going to school for? Is she qualified for the scholarship?

No flame. But that makes more sense than anything. Imagine if his fiancee can't even get into UGA. Tough school to get into. Freeze comes in and says he'll give her a full ride in field hockey or whatever. That could easily seal the deal.

Is there a rule against that? I'm not saying we did, I'm just curious.

I mean if the girl is somewhat athletic it'd be hard to prove. I'm sure they have non-athletic schollys too.

I don't believe there is, probably due to some loophole or some sort. Which is what really sucks, it's not that OM did anything "wrong" per se, just sketchy. From what people are saying OM offered the fiancee (and possibly his brother as well) scholarships, which obviously would make LT think long and hard about going there.

So if you get alumni to create a BS Scholarship and she is the only one that applies, the NCAA won't say anything?

You couldnt give someone a scholarship to persuade a recruit but how do you prove that someone did?

I'm hearing it's an academic scholarship

I don't really care if it's true since I think it's punishment enough that he'll miss on all the smoking trim at OM because he's bring her

This is the same thing the Tiger Rant was saying after Landon Collins put on a Bama hat at the Under Armour game last year.. It really only comes down to one thing: Sour Grapes
