Damn...what the hell? They need to invest in a proofreader. They misspelled Mt. Pleasant.

Won't be long before the taters are screaming that we must be forking over some major cash to be landing all of the talent we have been recently.

Year 1 coaching bump. Once they see the results on the field it'll go away.

We have coaches who have proven elite-level recruiting abilities. If they are able to get the talent they are getting with the current state of affairs, I am pretty sure that won't fall off that dramatically.

Harvesting instate talent is how we built those 11 win teams and it is what we are doing now. No matter what your opinion of Muschamp is, there is only so much that can be done with what Spurrier left us with. I'll save final judgement on coaching abilities/lessons learned or not learned from past experience in the HC arena for when Muschamp has assembled his team and what the level of performance on the field is.

Hopefully Muschamp has learned roster management when it comes to recruiting.

2 OLs a year is not going to cut it.

Question is, does SCAR parlay the recruiting success to a National Title?

The team currently has 1 senior OL on its roster, and a total of 4 OL that are jr.s and sr.s (13 that are fr. and so.). The 2017 class for USC contains 4 OL commitments. Seems like he's figuring things out....

Will Muschamp pulled in a bunch of really highly ranked classes at UF.

Outside of the transition year in 2011, he was #4 in 2012, #3 in 2013 and #9 in 2014.

I assume he will continue to do well in that department.

Well if there is one team that can teach us that high level recruiting doesn't equal championships its UGA.

Define "high level"

I would say only having 2 classes outside the top 10 since the turn of the century would indicate that UGA is absolutely a "high level" recruiting machine.

Well, I would say that those schools who won a national championship the past 10-15 years all had a top 5 class. Something UGA only did in 2015. But I guess everyone has a different opinion of high level recruiting.

You know what, that is an interesting point. 247 composite seems to be the gold standard these days so lets go with that. They started compiling in 2001 so I'll look at the Champs from 2005 to present to have a full view of the level of talent on teams.

2005 Champ: Texas Average Class Rank 2001-2004 (7.25) UGA (8.75)

2006 Champ: Florida Average Class Rank 2002-2005 (7) UGA (7.75)

2007 Champ: LSU Average Class Rank 2003-2006 (7) UGA (6.25)

2008 Champ: UF Average Class Rank 2004-2007 (5) UGA(6.25)

2009 Champ: Bama Average Class Rank 2005-2008 (13) UGA(6.25)

2010 Champ: Auburn Average Class Rank 2006-2009 (17) UGA(6)

2011 Champ: Bama Average Class Rank 2007-2010 (5.75) UGA(8)

2012 Champ: Bama Average Class Rank 2008-2011 (2.75) UGA(7.25)

2013 Champ: FSU Average Class Rank 2009-2012 (6.25) UGA (7.5)

2014 Champ: OSU Average Class Rank 2010-2013 (7.25) UGA(9.25)

2015 Champ: Bama Average Class Rank 2011-2014 (1) UGA (8.5)

Other than the Saban factor at Bama, the classes at UGA have been within striking distance of a lot of these teams.

Within striking distance but no top five class to reach that level.

So you actually don't think having top 10 recruiting classes mostly every year since 2000 is high level recruiting?

Being top 10 in just about anything else in college football is considered to be elite, most would assume it's the same for recruiting as well.

I never said it wasn't high level. It was elite level recruiting but not national championship level.
