Amazing that two days before NSD, Freeze and Saban are still going up against each other for some elite undecided prospects. Mano-a-midget, as it were. Here's my guess as to who wins those battles (with their composite national ranking for reference)

  1 DT Rashan Gary- neither
 11 LB Mique Juarez-neither
 19 DL Jeffery Simmons-Freezus
 38 WR AJ Brown-Freezus
 62 CB Nigel Knott-Midget
64 DE Terrell Hall-too close to call
 71 CB Shyheim Carter-Freezus
239 RB D'Vaughn Pennamon-Freezus
240 WR Mykel Jones-no rooms left in The Inn at WRU; Satan gets the sloppy seconds
276 DT Kobe Jones-Mullinz gets a crumb
JUCO DE Kongo-Butch is a bitch

Did I miss anyone?

9 years on the site and you can't make a reasonable thread on the recruiting board?

I think there will be a pretty even split, we'll get Simmons, Bama gets Hall; we get Carter, they get Knott; Mykel Jones goes to Bama if we get AJ Brown (we won't), if Bama gets Brown, Jones goes to Oklahoma; Neither of us get Juarez or Pennamon.

Well Alabama certainly has a higher ceiling given that they only have 16 players committed.

I'm thinking Alabama moves up more than Ole Miss moves up, but Ole Miss still finishes higher. So one way of looking at that is Alabama will close stronger. But Ole Miss will have the better class. Make sense?

Actually, I think it's just the opposite. My guess is that OM wins the majority of these head-to-head battles down the stretch, but that Bama ends up with a higher-rated class. The difference being, that Bama is pretty much a lock IMO for some 5-stars (e.g. those LBs from their home state) that we are not even in the game for. Almost every one of our remaining targets are on that list.

Prolly, but I wouldn't bet against Bama pulling both.

Seriously, again? It's become a yearly thing for you to be disappointed.

And I wouldn't bet against Freeze beating Saban on and off the field.

Freeze is 2-2 on the field against Saban (though I'd gladly take the 3 SEC and 2 National Titles Saban has won on the field since Freeze got there in exchange for Freeze being .500 against Saban, but that's just me).

Freeze is 0-4 against Saban in recruiting rankings since he's been at OM.

Yea I've been so disappointed yearly with all those number 1 classes

My only regret is that they won't let us play the Patriots

I won't deny how great Saban is, he's possibly the best coach in the history of college football. But you have to give Freeze credit, he's far ahead of where Nick Saban was at this point in his career. He won't be as successful as Saban just because it is much harder to win at Ole Miss than at LSU or Bama, but it will be interesting to see what all Hugh can accomplish now that he is turning Ole Miss into a contender. We've been very lucky that we haven't lost assistant coaches, but this staff loves to recruit.

I've been impressed, no doubt. Props to Ole Miss for taking a chance on him AND, when it became obvious he was a good hire, for paying him like it to make sure he didn't bail to a different job.

I think Bama gets Knott and Ole Miss gets Carter. Alabama gets Terrell Hall, Ole Miss is getting Simmons. I refuse to believe AJ Brown to Ole Miss so I say Bama gets him too.
