Amazing to me how Vol fans still put up with a guy that hasn't even won the shitty east in four years (gonna be five this year).

I guess they're fine with mediocre.

Just saw on twitter that he's on an OV to Miss St. He's always been an interesting one and he's a Grantham guy. On mobile, no link, but one of the UGA 247 guys retweeted Ryan Callahan.

Lol if Lyle loses a potentially immediate starter to fricking Mississippi State because the kid wants to be coached up by Todd Gratham

"To flicking Mississippi State"? Seriously? State/UT success the last 7-8 years have been pretty close. We aren't fricking Kentucky

They did at first but when Wiggins brought it up publicly, they backed off. I guess his former coach who he's followed everywhere has had time to get in his ear. The thing that sucks if we lose him is that it makes it harder to find a replacement if he changes his mind this late.

Austin Price text with Wiggins earlier tonight around 10 and here's what he had to say

quote:

He just text me that he made the trip because State has been hounding him to do it. Went on to text that, "I'm a Vol and we going to turn up"

So that's the latest.

We'll see what happens.

Well hopefully that's true but between Martin earning a lot of praise and his former coach being there I'm not sure I buy it. I mean it's not like Wiggins doesn't have shall we say trouble deciding on one thing.

Actually, recent so-so success not withstanding that's pretty inaccurate. And FWIW, I actually like State.

Not a great. It's not the world if he does go to MSU, but it would have been nice to have him for depth.

Wiggins cited his relationship with Warren and defensive coordinator Bob Shoop as reasons he’s sticking with Tennessee.

“Just sitting down and talking to them, I like the plan they have for the defense and the players they have,” Wiggins said. “In that scheme, they’re looking at me as veteran who can come on and be a solid corner.

“I can tell Coach Warren wants to coach me up and take me to the next level, and then Coach Shoop was at Vanderbilt when I was at Georgia, so he got to see me get a Pick-6 against a team he coached,” Wiggins said. “This is a good situation for me and a good platform.”

Wiggins is also friends with several of the players on the Tennessee football team who are from Georgia, as he was a star at Sandy Creek High School in Tyrone.

“I grew up around the Berry brothers, and I’ve been talking to all of the guys,” Wiggins said. “I know Nigel Warrior, Justin (Martin), (Todd) Kelley and (Emmanuel) Moseley … there are a lot of Georgia boys on the team, so it’s all good.”

I mean there are a lot of Georgia guys on the team (almost always are) but Martin and Kelly are from TN and Moseley's from NC. Ironically the actual Georgians he names - the Berry Bros and Nigel Warrior - are all deep Tennessee legacies.

He has the same chance of getting drafted at either school. Tennessee might need him more.

Sounds like it's a wrap
