I don't think it was every Gator fan. UF did want Eason but Gator fans feel good about Trask.

Trask is an interesting propesct, but I don't remember anyone saying they "didn't even want Eason" because of him.

maybe "didn't need" is a more accurate way to put it. I went back and forth with some UF posters when the whole Eason following the UF OC thing happened, and they were convinced that it was fine if it was only smoke since Trask was coming in.
Now apparently the Franks commitment is needed badly. I think it was more of a refusal to admit that Trask might not be that good. In any case, I find it interesting.

Trask is the perfect backup QB recruit. Currently a backup in HS and he did not transfer or move. The HS that Trask is at runs a system suited to a DT QB. Trask is a pocket passer. He has the talent to catch Nuss's eye and fight to get Trask an offer.
Franks is needed because he is a top level QB recruit and should help land all the WRs UF is going after.

Franks was always the more "melt worthy" recruit. LSU fans have bigger things to melt about right now.

When Patterson rejected them, they said Franks was the guy they really wanted. And that he had more upside than Patterson. Now that Franks has seen the light, how long before the Tigahs start trashing him?

FWIW: Most LSU fans knew how bad we missed on Shea. We all have our online badasses, but Shea is a beast and anyone with intelligence will tell you that.

True. I'm surprised it is not worse than this after all the shea Patterson/franks threads from earlier this year. Lots of bumpable material around if people actually cared to bring it up
