This marks the third announced camp in Louisiana that Texas was scheduled to take part in. And it’s the third camp that LSU has worked hard behind the scenes to prevent from happening.

Update: Camp in Hammond, La., featuring Texas has been cancelled due to LSU pressure. Hal Mumme unhappy w/Orgeron. Costs Belhaven $5,000.

I love Texas fans crying "but think about the kids!"

Is it kinda shitty of Orgeron? Sure. Would I want my coach doing the same thing in that situation? Absolutely. Satellite camps are overrated but if you can flex your muscle and keep a recruiting rival at bay, then do it

Exactly. There are other ways for kids to get scholarships other than satellite camps.

I don't have issue with it. It didn't sit well with many Alabama fans that Michigan was camping in Huntsville and Montgomery.

What the hell is a small division school in Jackson, MS, doing holding a camp with Texas in Hammond, LA?

Texas fans and administration crying about political pressure and behind the scenes manipulation is rich. The Longhorns are being the world's biggest hypocrites, but what else is new?

Right.

There is one guy that has some good responses about this issue in the thread on the LSU RB. He's apparently worked at the satellite camps or knows someone who has, and talks about how these things are worse for smaller prospects than they used to be because when big name is attached to the camp, it makes it harder to be seen due to volume.

But it's a ton of money for the little school.

IT'S ALL ABOUT THE KIDS!!!

Hal Mumme was the head coach at Southeastern when they restarted the football program in 03, probably just using his connections to get an eye out for bottom tier Louisiana talent.

Bama has no players committed from Louisiana now, but they will come signing day.

The topic discussed football camps, so I stated that Bama should have one in Louisiana. Then I realized there would be no point since Saban will get just about anyone he wants from Louisiana anyway.

Bama has had success recruiting louisiana under saban, but that change change really quickly. It won't stay that way forever. Enjoy it while it lasts. I'm not saying bama won't continue doing ok in louisiana, but to have the amount of success they have had with kids LSU wants too...I expect LSU to change that soon.

No the topic was and still is Ed Orgeron's not allowing Texas to have a satellite camp in Louisiana. Way more specific than "football camps".

Who are you confident about? Or are you just generalizing in a troll like manner?

I fully expect Kelvin Joseph to sign with the Tide.

Mainly because Bama is losing their top 4 safeties after this year, with no proven backups behind them. So any safeties that Bama signs in the 18 class will likely play immediately next year.

In his defense, at least two of the Alabama recruiting sites are predicting Kelvin Joseph will flip and sign with Alabama.

I can see the confidence there but this side is also confident and Corey Raymond loves Joseph. Corey Raymond usually has his way

Didn't know a true statement is called trolling now. Has it gotten that bad for LSU fans?
