Great grab Vols.

Here's to a speedy recovery for him. He seems to be a really, really good kid.

Appreciate it bruh!

Emerson's 247 profile

UT's 2018 class is now rated 4th in the country. If/when Jerome Carvin commits, UT will have secured 7 out of the top 10 in players in Tennessee. A nice rebound from last years instate class.

Really strong start on the OL/DL recruiting by Hoke and Wells. They have been impressive since getting brought on board.

Pretty impressive. The staff has managed to get bluechip/SEC caliber players out of every major metro in the state outside of Clarksville & The Tri cities (Both areas with little to no talent this cycle)

-Nashville
-Memphis (Waiting/Fighting for Cam Jones/Jerome Carvin)
-Knoxville
-Chattanooga
-Murfreesboro
-Jackson

I still cringe remembering the days when Dooley shunned most of the in state recruits and neglected relationships/networking with the high schools and their coaches all across the state. Jones has really turned it around in that area and I'm thankful for it. He hasn't gotten them all, but he's got a lot.

To be fair to Dooley the state of Tennessee didn't really have elite talent back then like it does now.

The last 3 years have produced some ridiculous elite guys whereas 5-6 years ago the talent was extremely thin.

The talent has taken off the last 5 years or so, but you have no idea how disliked Dooley was through out the state while in Knoxville. I know for a fact that he burned several bridges with in state high schools that Jones and his guys had to come in and try and make up with. He was counter productive to what any State Flagship should be doing with local support/resources. & would have missed the lions share of the instate guys over the last 4-5 years had he been HC and had the opportunity.

The state of Tennessee generally is on a roll right now. The growth of Middle Tennessee has created a gold mine in state that wasn't previously there for Tennessee. Draw a 300 mile radius around Knoxville and we have a hell of a recruiting base. No excuses not to get elite talent to a place like Tennessee.

It had 2 DBs that competed and won National Titles elsewhere.
