Banned from the city of Athens too, isn't he?

Yeah, except to complete his community service and play in football games for another school. Also banned from all of Clarke County.

ETA: I just thought about how absurd that is. How are you banished from a place (a strange punishment in itself) but then allowed an exception for a fricking football game? How does playing football grant you an altered legal punishment?

I'm guessing he doesn't end up at Alabama now. But who knows?

Agreed. And maybe it's not uncommon but I've never heard of someone being banned from a county as punishment before. Strange.

Wasn't Mettenberger banned from Valdosta?

When I went to court for a ticket one time the judge banned a couple from coming inside the county for a year.

If the SEC allows it, why would Saban stop recruiting this kid? He has taken or kept worse players.

I thought it was Milledgeville, but wherever the incident was, he was banned. Valdosta's shite and so is Milledgeville though so Mett caught a break anyway.

you can let me know when Auburn recruits a player that causes SEC president to pass a rule banning any such players from playing in the league

I love bammers trying to change the focus somewhere else when this would be the third different player you have taken or kept under Saban alone after they were charged with a felony

I hope he doesn't!!

Do you see that Internet strangers? Do you see my moral righteousness? Look at how good of a person I am by voicing my disapproval in his ongoing recruitment to UA!

Lots of these kids are from the inner city and probably have been caught doing similar things and because they were minors you never heard about it. Not like he killed anyone.

The sentence couldn't have gone better for him. Hopefully he's learned his lesson. I'd imagine we give him a shot now.

If we don't and he winds up elsewhere, I wish him much success. UNLESS he winds up at LSU, utk, The Barn, UGa, UF, A&M, Ole Miss, MSU, FSU, Ohio State, Notre Dame, USCe, USCw, Texas, Oklahoma, Miami, Meeeechigan, Oregon, climpsun, Baylor, TCU, Nebraska, Missouri, Penn State, Arizona, Arizona State, Wisconsin, Meechigan State, Stanford, UCLA, Virginia Tech, Washington, Utah, Oklahoma State, Boise State, or Kansas State.
