Commits to Bama

It'll be interesting to see if Bama can get him qualified

Then again it's Bama we're talking about here.

Because Bama's last 2 commitments from NC (Alfy Hill, Josh McNeil) just breezed through the clearinghouse

UGA and Florida seemed to do well.

I was reffering to Bama's ability to magically get players qualified; not commenting on the quality of Emmons as a prospect. I'll edit to make it more clear

REC is about to give a few honorariums to a few of this kid's teachers.

Congrats, now fix that damn thread title...

How's speaking the truth hate? The kid is in a terrible grade situation.

Sounds like sour grapes, Bama reporters say UGA rumors of grade issues are highly overrated. He suddenly developed grade issues when was getting serious about Alabama.

Even if he does have grade issues, doesn't he have more than a full years worth of academic calendar to get them up to snuff?

Yeah, that's not true at all. It's why UGA wouldn't take his commitment initially, why 247 has him rated as a 3*, and why UGA didn't contact him for months at a time as a "committed" recruit. His "decommitment" was one of the worst kept secrets in recruiting.
I don't know why Bama got more involved, but the academic/off-field concerns are real. He's already had a drug possession arrest to go with those qualifying issues.

Not with the new qualifying rules. He has to have a certain amount of core classes done by the start of his senior year.
UGA might be wrong or more risk-averse than Bama is, but they didn't make up the grade concerns.

He was basically told by UGA that he had no chance to qualify and treated as such.

Well thats not very nice. Should make for an easy choice between UGA and Bama when he gets out of Juco. We will need great RBs then too.

Ahh I didn't know they changed the rules. Oh well. If he gets qualified, awesome he looks good on film. If not, I think we'll be ok. I'd love to have him but won't be that upset if we don't.

I just read this kid was suspended by his high school team for 2 games last fall after being arrested on drug charges. He really will be a perfect fit in Tuscaloosa
